it would seem that hbo has asked groupe GYM if eledier alvarez would be ready to fight him.. although alvarez is a good prospect, i see it as just a stay busy stepping stone for kovalev aparently alvarez trainer(same as pascal) marc ramesy said that yes they want the fight...i guess time will tell if the go this route or not.....but it would seem that hbo is trying to set up a stevenson/kovalev fight in the near future...having kovalev fight alvarez and beat him convincingly would then make him more known among the quebec public, making way for a stevenson/kovalev fight that would generate alot of $
that seems to be the plan...the reason for choosing alvarez was simply because everyone else is busy..(stevenson, cloud, b-hop, pascal, bute..although im damn sure alvarez is gonna loose, it would be a great setup fight for kovalev, that is if they plan on hosting adonis vs kovalev in montreal..whichh im sure is what will happen based simply on ticket sales....presently montreal is boxings cash cow, selling out almost every big fight basic translationg: hbo asked if they would be willing to send someone to fight kovalev, and if alvarez was interested in the fight...alvarez, his trainer, and his conditioner all said yes anytime...
I get it now! When Kovalev faces anyone who can sell out a hometown venue, rest assured he will be going into hostile territory just like with Cleverly. So kovalev's immediate future in the sport will be fighting top guys in their backyards with handpicked refs and judges. NICE! Long story short: Be carefull of wishing for boxing success, you jut might get it...
if this fight were to happen, alvarez has good footwork, i think if he wants to make it last it may give for a longer fight, i still dont see how kovalev wont ko him...but i would still like to see it happen based on simply knowing that the next fight on the card would be stevenson
yes i know, thats why i was saying that alvarez might be kovalevs next opponent, not the other way around...either way to be honest, i dont see this fight getting made
