Has the amateur rivalry going for it, but Stevenson remains the biggest fight for Kovalev at 175. But if no Stevenson fight like I suspect, beterbiev is a great consolation prize.

Styles make fights, Kovalev is an incredibly bad stylistic matchup for Beterbiev. Sure I want to see it, but its not going to be the slugfest most of you seem to envisage. Beterbiev if he's smart will try to set a slower pace and attempt to set traps and cautiously work his way inside instead of his usually mow you down style, and that could play into Kovalev's hands as well.

There's no hornier sight in all of boxing than Samantha Kumiko's ass in those tight little Corona panties. You get an especially good view of it at weigh ins. YT is your friend. That gives me a boner.

It's a very close fight that I think will be Boring, I don't know if beterbiev will force the inside. Kovalev if he ties up will lose in those spots. I think both beat Gvodyk easily and maybe either should go for that before setting up the non ppv mega fight.

Gvodyk quit a couple times in the amateurs in fights and one of them was vs Beterbiev in 2009. He even admits to it in an recorded interview on boxing...scene.

If he's able to get in on the inside vs Kovalev then it favours BBeterbiev. if it stays on the outside it favours Kovalev. Kovalev is surprising weak on the inside but fight star on the outside and I'm not sure if Beterbiev forces the inside or waits for people to try to tie him up. most of his early kos are from guys that tried to force the inside.

I agree, but isn't it a style matchup we deserve to see play out? He's a style we haven't quite seen Kovalev deal with, unlike Gvozdyk who's fairly similar to Shabransky even if he's better. Who would be more challenging for him? And Bivol should probably be fighting Barrera next. Till Bivol looks good against someone like Barrera I can't confidently say he's the greatest threat to Kovalev. I hope we get Gvozdyk-Beterbiev and Bivol-Barrera next, but does that mean another relative tuneup for Kovalev?

Kovalev would not give up the outside like many punchers do. Yes if it's an inside fight Beterbiev could very well take over and Kovalev could unravel, but getting and staying there I think is really unlikely. Ward has that ability to patiently get on the inside against a long-range power puncher, Beterbiev I think only can against guys who aren't touching him much.

Somewhat agree with this aside from your assessment of Gvozdyk, people for some reason don't process him the way they should, he's clearly far more intricate, and brings a lot of different variables to the ring than a face first punching bag like Slava.

Hopefully we do get to see a few more Kovalev warm ups, personally I'd like to see Bivol step aside and Kovalev have a match against Barrera, and make no mistake, that would be a warm up for Sergey.

I know Gvozdyk is a long way out from his amateur career. He has quit on his stool a few times, and I know that was then and this is now, but I don't think you go from quiting in the amateurs to getting punched by Kovalev and taking it well. I think Kovalev levels him. amazing stylistic matchup for kovalev
