Kovalev vs Calzaghe

Great fight Pascal was a warrior but c'mon he hasn't beat a top 15 opponent in 4-5 years. Calzaghes career is over Kovalevs isn't though how about we let the dust settle before we decide.

This is not about who has had the better career, this is who would win a fight between each other.

 

Pascal had never been stopped or even knocked down before. Calzaghe got dropped on his ass by non puncher Hopkins and shot2**** Jones. Calzaghe would be lucky to make it out of the 4th or 5th round.

No **** but seeing as how Kovalevs best wins are against 50 yr old Hopkins and a faded but not shot Pascal it's kind of hard to gauge him for this fight. I would like to be fair and not just a damn fanboy like yourself. You gauge fighters ability in the quality of fighters they face don't you?

 

If a 49 year old Hopkins can last 12 rounds so can an Iron chinned Calzaghe. Too much handspeed, too much workrate, too much skills. Calzaghe UD. Does anyone remember the Lacy fight? For Pete's sake.

You like to throw the word fanboy a lot don't you? Just because I think a fighter would beat another doesn't mean I am a fanboy. Hopkins had two belts and was still highly ranked, Pascal has given everyone he's been in with problems and is still only 32 years old and Kovalev stopped him for the first time in his career. I'm saying a guy like Kovalev would be a problem for Calzaghe based on the skills set he has shown in the ring.

gibbering joe quivers in fear of kovalev..... but from a safe distance hundreds of miles away in Cardiff surrounded by welsh fans he is happy to laugh at ko4clev telling them that ko4clve is not worth a shot at his non-valid The Ring LHW title.

Funny thing is, people are rating Kovalev for beating a near 50 year old in his early 30s, and a fighter Calzaghe beat years ago during their best LHW form.
I think Calzaghe would have won a clear decision, especially after watching Kovalev against Pascal.
Still this just shows how good Calzaghe was in that years after he retired we mention him next to todays arguably best LHW, who looks like he may go on to be one of the modern greats like Michalczewski, Erdei, Hill, Maske, Hopkins
