Kovalev vs Calzaghe

People are overlooking that Kovalev is also the better boxer.

 

Yes, he was susceptible to right hands. But after watching Kov last night, I think he would have been open to Joe's fast hands from a southpaw stance.

 

Tough one. I think it would be a close fight. Calzaghe would land more punches due to his speed and work rate. Kovalev would land some good harder punches. Kovalev might score a knockdown because Joe was knocked down a few times in his career but then he didn't get knocked down by Kessler who was better than most of the guys who knocked him down and probably hit harder than all the guys who knocked him down. It's less likely but I also wouldn't rule out the possibility of Calzaghe scoring a flash knockdown like he did against Eubank and Mitchell. If I had to put money on it though I would either say a draw or Calzaghe wins a super close decision using his speed like he did vs Kessler.

 

I don't think there're people despite limeys who believe calslappy would have a chance against Kovalev

Pascal hadn't beaten a top 15 fighter in 4-5 years while he came to fight he was faded period. Kovalev didn't put away an immobile Hopkins over the course of 12 rounds but I bet you think he knocks out a prime Calzaghe. You call Calzaghe an overrated bum and he has a win over a 43 yr old lineal Hopkins but a 50 year old Hopkins is a good win for Kovalev. THAT MAKES YOU A BIASED FANBOY!

 

You do realize Kovalevs best win was a 50 yr old Bhop. He also fought BHOp while being in his prime and hi second best win is Pascal who last beat a top 15 fighter 4-5 years ago and has losses to an even older Bhop than the one Calaaghe fought. Also a loss to Froch.
