    What makes you attribute that to Brits only? Also, Haye vs. Wlad was one of the most hyped fights in the last 10 years, the fan bases were very emotional about it. Other than that, I see little evidence for your claim. Kovalev was a bit of an unknown quantity prior to this fight, to the public at least. Having killed a fighter in the ring and bombing out Campillo were surely matters that raised some attention but he wasn't considered 100% legit until he crapped on Cleverly, let's be honest. You can't blame people for putting money on the champ against someone most casuals haven't heard of.
    Obviously, roughly 50% of this forum saw the result coming but we're hardly representative of your casual Ricky Hatton fan, are we?

    It isn't just Brits, cause many countries seem to be pretty patriotic, but the UK has one of the biggest betting traditions with a huge amount of bookies.
    Wich shifts the odds much more as most other countries.
    If you look at the poll (it's a public one) you'll see that the vast majority of the Cleverly backers are British, and only a few of them actually picked Kovalev to win.

    If you were to take out all the British votes here, the poll outcome would look significantly different.
    On top of that shifting odds towards the home fighter means that a lot of bets are trown on him. Certainly when the US odds (wich are less influenced by the British bets) have the odds clearly wider.
