If Dawsons last fight didnt ruin him an he can return to decent form who would you favor? Can't say I think Dawson could outbox him, an he doesnt have the power to keep Kovalev off him. Yeah Kovalev didnt beat a world class fighter in thompson, still it was a good gauge. That jab an right hand an that pressure would spell trouble for Dawson. all my opinion though

Dawson would have lost eventually even if he didn't fight Ward, just by the way he looked against Hopkins. He looked like **** against Hopkins. At least against Ward, his excuse was that he was weight drained. It was kind of strange how Dawson just called out Ward and agreed to all of Ward's demands, even the low pay.
