While I realize this one probably isn't in the cards, Froch has said at various points over the years that he would ultimately be interested in fighting for a title at 175. He even often said that he would love to one day rematch Pascal, and that an ideal situation would be Froch moving up at a time when Pascal was already a 175 pound title holder. This could conceivably be a situation that comes about, although I don't deem it likely. But how would a fight between Kovalev and The Cobra play out, for most of the marbles at 175? :smoke
Man, I'm excited enough about Kovalev vs. Pacsal as it is. Froch vs. Pascal II at 175lb? Froch vs. Kovalev? Sweet baby Jesus sucking on Mary's supposedly never-before-sucked teat - that's good ****.
I love Carl, I love Sergey this fight is a nightmare for me, but as much of an iron chin as Carl has Kovalev would crack it badly, although if Froch went into full beast mode in the first round which is uncommon for him he may be able to take Kovalev out, although its quite doubtful.
Froch would ask questions Kovalev hasn't answered yet in the pro ranks. If Kovalev beats Pascal handily I'll probably change my mind but for now i'm going with a Froch stoppage.
I'm a fan of both but see Kovalev winning every time. He's just the better all round fighter and while Froch does have intangibles and will always be dangerous, especially late on. I can't see him doing what he has done to so many others and overwhelm Kovalev. The real question isn't who would win but if Kovalev can stop Froch.
