hmm 2 monsters straight outta the pages of Game of thrones. but I think segey is too big, too damaging he would flatten any smw who came up with the possible exception of someone with the full array of skills like Ward. at 37, age is not on frochs side either.
While what you say is true, I happen to think a "fighter" would have more problems with Kovalev, although we don't know. You could be right. :smoke
Kov could outbox him or possibly tko him, but Froch is like a wounded lion, one of those most dangerous when hurt. Kov could be going in for the kill when suddenly he's the one that might be staring at the pretty, bright lights. If Froch lands one of those right hands that he planted on Groves kisser, I don't see it going very well for Kov. Froch is as tough as they come, he'll probably be dropped 5 times, but if anyone can grind down or force Kov into a war, it's Froch. I think Kov will win, but it will go the distance. Froch is past his prime, but still deadly and smarter than ever. He knows his limits.
I'm with the majority here - Kovalev ultimately gets a TKO. Froch will take some getting rid of, though, and will be dangerous especially when hurt. The most straightforward logic here would be "If a moderately hard puncher at super middle (Groves) was able to stun Froch and repeatedly get his attention, even respect - then a massive puncher at light heavy (and Kovalev is no less the boxer or patient shot-picker than Groves) ought to have little problem affecting him even more" - true enough, but that can easily be countered with "Kovalev is capable of making the same exact mistake that Groves did, getting overeager, and paying for it by getting hurt & dropped by a light hitting light heavyweight (Caparello) - and nobody in their right mind thinks Caparello punches harder than Froch, p4p or straight-up apples2apples..." I think Kovalev vs. Froch would be exciting - but not in the way people think. It wouldn't be fireworks nonstop from the opening bell. Think about it. Froch actually boxed cautiously with Abraham, the last pure KO artist he fought. I think he'll attempt something like that with Kovalev, being fully aware of his reputation. Froch is no dummy. He knows his boxing. Likewise, he will probably get due respect from Kovalev, who is also pretty savvy and will know of Froch's rallying prowess, and who used brains and not just raw power to beat the cagey old Hopkins and thus avoided the "Pavlik trap" of seeing his own blind aggression turned against him and used to make him look foolish.
Kovalev by knockout!!! However, I think it would be a really good fight while it lasts, not dancing, but some real fighting. I think Froch would get seriously hurt though................
