Sure Johnson may be old, but he's still a durable fighter that could give Kovalev rounds. It would answer the question of what Kovalev does when he faces an opponent who can take his power and keep coming at him. And if he stops him, he'd be known as the first fighter to stop Johnson since Bernard Hopkins.
