I think this is a legitimate question after Beterbiev's impressive performance against Gabriel Campillo. I still want to see a Kovalev-Stevenson fight first, but let's see what ESB thinks...
BS thread. Stevenson needs to grow a pair and fight the best LHW in Kovalev. This **** of fighting the Fonfaras and blown-up over hill Bikas and getting any kind of credit for it is getting old.
Kovalev vs Stevenson has been cooking, and in the forefront for a while. It's about ready now. Beterbiev should be around for a while, there is no rush for him.
Would like to see Beterbiev in against a couple more "live" bodies. I was hoping Campillo would show some of his old self and use good movement but be didn't satisfy that dimension of the game for me. Would like to see Artur against Chilemba next . Then maybe Brahmer before a Kovalev fight.
Stevenson. As others have indicated, Beterbiev is looking good, but his best wins(Cloud and Campillo) are against fighters that are absolutely shot and offer him little resistance. He needs to get in there with a quasi-live body like Fonfara or Chilemba as about the level he should face next to test himself. Stevenson is clearly the best option in the division for Kovalev right now based on ability and accomplishments.
I'd love to see Stevenson/Beterbiev as it would be very entertaining. But... Kovalev deserves the shot. Baring a lucky straight left... AS can't win!
