When the match was first mentioned I would’ve favored Stevenson, but by 2016 and after I’d go with Kovalev crushing him, since Stevenson started slipping really bad.
Stevenson's t-rex arms would of seen the bigger Kovalev do a demolition job on him. He didn't have a great chin and would of been jabbed into oblivion before the right hand finished him off. Stevenson has a punchers chance but 90/100 it goes as above.
Prime for prime I would slightly lean Kovalev. I think both of their chins in their primes are underrated due to instances vefore and after their primes, so I don't think either would be blown out, but you never know because at their best they were 2 of the most murderous punching LHW's in the last 50+ years.
One that got away... GGG Pirog was another.. I'd have to lean towards Kovalev. He had the better skill. Look at the first Ward fight or watch him toy with Pascal like no one has..
I dont like Stevenson for obvious reasons. Still wished him the best and glad he pulled through when tragedy struck. I like kovalevs skillset over his, but I think Stevenson would have a real punchers chance here.
I wonder how you would of felt if he'd been the one people were saying was the one to best Canelo. Differently I'd wager.
The same here... It could have been a tremendous fight at the time, but Stevenson was afraid of Kovalev. Adonis went from being one of my most beloved fighters at first to being one of the most hated, it was the fight in my opinion, but he preferred to continue making ridiculous defenses and protect his title Krusher by KO
