As much as I think Ward is legit and better Kovalev will hit that chin hard
Dont think Ward will survive 12 rounds without getting hurt badly, dont think alot of people survive Kovalev

kovalev is slower and has possibly worse timing than ward, but good varied attack left hooks body attack slow down SOG stop him later on 7th round.

Exactly the way it "should" play out

Ward's not been really put to the test yet. Against a monster like Kovalev, you can bet your ass he'd be put to the test

For the only time in his career, Ward would be surely be hurt, and hurt badly. Its THEN we get to see just what he's made of

If Ward shy's away from this fight, well i dont blame him, but it will speak volumes over his legacy and ambitionz as a fightah

    :cheers

Ward might be able to neutralize Kovalev for a UD, but then again even with power aside, Kovalev has a better offense than Froch or Kessler. Add in the power and it gets very interesting. Obviously Kovalev's toughest fight, but it would be Andre's as well.

Kovalev is not just a big puncher, he has considerable skill. Honestly this fight is hard to call. While Kovalev has really good skills, I think Ward has greater level of skill. But Kovalev is so much stronger and hits so much harder it makes it a real unknown. Because he is not "just a puncher".

I would probably put it 60/40 favoring Ward.

27-11 for Kovalev at this stage. I picked him but am shocked at the disparity so far.

Stevenson has called out SOB Ward, but Ward refused to fight him.............SOB will not fight Kovalev either.......................Hopkins said he would never fight Kovalev or Stevenson...........

Reckon its one of these ones where no matter who people pick, most are gonna be real uncertain. Kov seems a strong favourite, but, in the post Calzaghe era, its become real hard to pick against Ward. Dont forget he fought one of the strongest, dirtiest boxers in the game (Bika) at his own game - and won. Ward is one bad mofo

Would love to see this cause Hopkins & Stevenson act like they dont know who Kovalev is . Ward kept Froch at arms length all night and he is one of the strongest SMW but Kovalev just looks like a different animal

Andre "Huggy Bear" Ward will do what all these "smart" fighters do when they face real fighters: run, throw some punches leading with their heads, hold, hold and hit, hold, throw an elbow, hold, then run again...repeat.

Honestly - do not f#kkin know how this one would play out.

Kovalev is not only the biggest hitter but also the most technically proficient fighter Ward will have faced - Kovalev doesn't just land the artillery by accident but has a deceptively sophisticated style.

OTOH I would never bet against Dre, the guy has a ring IQ second to none and a superb ability to read, time and counter his opponent..

Kovalev has said he can't come down in weight, but I think both guys already fight in the low 180lb bracket - at 175 it's a fight I really can't read.

Damn - if I had a gun to my head I would go with the more proven fighter, Ward, but I really don't know on this one. Every time I think someone's gonna make Kovalev struggle and every time he simply Krushes them...

The amount of **** you make up to fit your racist agenda is shocking!

See link below for Hopkins only 2 weeks ago saying he would love to face Kovalev and Stevenson and another link with Hopkins going on record that he would face Kovalev as his mandatory only for Kovalev the next day announce a fight with Cleverly.

Ward is the more proven fighter at the highest level so I would have to favour Ward. But Kovalev is a very dangerous fighter. He is a huge puncher, may only need to land once to end the fight and he his technically a very well schooled fighter himself.

Ward's tendency to fight on the inside could very well see him in serious trouble and he won't have the usual strength advantage on the inside that he is used to against the naturally bigger Kovalev.

FarmB can be a racist f#ckwit but Hopkins saying he would fight Kovalev 'if he had to' was slightly disingenuous - Espinoza had already given it a thumbs down on SHO, so Bhop (and Duva) already knew the fight would probably not get made whilst the Clev fight was already on the table.
