Erm, no he didn't . And i'll ask again, which elite 175lber has Ward beaten ? Stop letting personal opinion get mixed up with facts.
He last fought at 168 in 2013. He fought at 172 in 2015, he's fighting at 175 in 2016. How is that not slowly moving up in size? He hasn't faced any elite 175lb'er just like the dude he's about to fight. None of that is personal opinion.
People make too much of a fuss about how different Ward looks form SMW to LHW imo. His tune-ups were just that, and he is obviously more capable offensively than what he showed. Kovalev himself said it.
Ward will find a way to nullify Kovalev jab with movement and sneaky counters.... but not sure he has enough to get Kovalevs respect. Tough fight. I'm going for the draw
Bogo, breh the other boxing board I post on (which has no trolls, and about 90% people who know boxing) some cat posted your video there. It kinda made me chuckle. But you should know lots of ppl are watching your stuff. I think people are used to seeing Ward with the skinny neck, and the young face.......when he's grown into an adult and added probably 12-15lbs of muscle. Do you see Ward's head movement being a possible issue?
I'm confused as to why you keep mentioning Ward maturing into the weight, Ward has always been a light heavy, but he had the same ability as Pavlik in that both were able to dry down and perform at a weight below. When Ward beat Froch the outcome was as much to do with Wards size and strength as it was his lead left and cute counters on the break. Ward was able to bully and rough up Froch on the inside, this made Froch reluctant to let his hands go unless he had room. Tonight Ward will be fighting a natural 175lber, a very heavy handed fighter and underrated boxer, who you will argue hasnt faced any elite competition at the weight. Now that may be true to some extent, but an aged Hopkins was still considered by some to be elite, and was picked by many to out hustle and embarrass Kovalev. Pascal whilst crude, had proven himself awkward and able at the weight, and i'd also suggest that Chilemba is light years better than anything Wards seen at 175. As you are probably well aware, i don't like Ward as a person, but i massively respect his skills, ring IQ, and desire. I've also said from the first time this fight was ever mentioned, that i believe Ward will beat Kovalev, but i make him a miniscule favourite based on him being at his very best. Should Ward be one tenth of one percent off, i can see Kovalev busting him up. Those who say Ward simply needs to turn up, and will put a schooling on Kovalev are nothing but simpletons who really DKSAB.
Well I disagree with you but I do respect your opinion, and that you gave valid reasons to back them up. So I will respectfully, agree to disagree.
Hey, sorry I never got back to you. Thanks for the tip though, glad to see people enjoyed it. Before the fight I thought Ward would improve his head movement a bit more than he did, but a lack of upper body flexibility and spring in the legs was my biggest worry. I'm glad Ward was just able to pull it off still with his control of distance.
