I kind of want him to win more because of that too.

I have a 60/40 lean towards SOG on the “want to win factor” for several different reasons, the result of the fight is a bit closer, truly and nail biting 50/50 type match up.

Ward has an awesome resume and this would solidify him
His skillset while recognized by most doesn’t garner enough respect as it should
It would have an American on top of the boxing world…this is a good segue into a thought I expressed with my old boxing trainer.

Growing up in the heart of New York boxing was a top activity, the interest ran deep and turf wars with rival groups would be settled with fists the only time a gun was drawn was because of some insecure idiot who was afraid of combat or drugs and money was involved. I can’t pinpoint the time and date but there was a mass exodus that took place and the energy that boxing once produced was replaced with basketball, baseball and football. The youth counselors began pushing misguided yet physically talented youth towards more organized team sports that required sign off from more conscious parents. Mothers and Fathers of impoverished and often looked over neighborhoods started to take advantage of the various programs crafted to divert and absorb the attention of frustrated pre-teens and so the shift began.

I was part of the movement the mental manipulation taking place across the city was widely accepted and supported because it was just more practical, efficient and less combative. While most of America created these cookie cutter subsets of mismanaged communities full of the same faces I grew within a socio ethnic culture made of mixed ancestral backgrounds. What does that mean, well it meant when we quarreled we always went after the biggest baddest dude on the other team because he was the biggest threat and we respected his impact and ability to change the tide in a split second. Our competitive juices always flowed due to testosterone and pride…..family origin? Melanin levels? Religious belief? Country of birth? All elements that meant absolutely nothing to us disrespect was earned through your personal actions and lack of street judgement, hate was merited not predetermined from years of generational ignorance and misconceptions.

What I’m trying to say is I hope this forum sticks to the script for this fight and folks leave their smug superiority complexes under the toilet seat in grandma’s bathroom.

I dislike both. But I won't forgive Kovalev for how he acted after Pascal 2. Hope Ward knocks him out.

I am picking Ward to win so I guess I want him to win so I won't be wrong. However, if Kovalev wins, I won't be upset and what I want the most is an entertaining fight.

Just make the fight happen. I think boxing fans deserve a fight like this after being dragged through the mud for the last 6 months.

Kovalev I just prefer his style and while Ward is a great fighter I dislike jesus freaks. Great to see 2 elites face each other though and props to Ward for taking this fight.

Kovalev all the way though mostly what I want is that the fight actually happens.
