What can Ward do? He punches like a girl. Zero power. He can't hurt Kovalev. But Kovalev can likely flatten Ward at any time with a variety of punches.

Kovalev is a smart tactical fighter when he wants to be. We saw this with Hopkins who couldn't believe he got knocked down. It wasn't the power. It was unexpected. Even Ward has said he is a smart fighter. You don't think he is going to bring this A game to Ward? And let's say even if Ward is very elusive and too smart. Kovalev can then throw caution to the wind and hammer on his face. Its not like Ward will be countering bombs. He's an accurate powder puff. Kovalev is an accurate bomber. And once Ward gets hit a bunch he'll be just another with a plan until he got hit. Like Boone says, Kovalev can adjust.

He will be all over Ward. You bet Kovalev will be motivated. His performance against Ward will make his performance against hopkins look very poor. Ward will be another KO victim.

And I'll say it now - this will be one of Kovalev's easiest wins.
And it won't be because Ward skills degraded. Kovalev would beat him any day with a flu.

Why is it such a crazy statement

Most of Wards fights are not good watching plus he is very good an making opponents fight his fight, so therefore I can see him making this a very ugly and dull fight

    Easy fight? :nut
Froch went in there with the exact same mindset and he got schooled!
The idea of power being the key point in ths fight is complete nonsence.
Think back at Hopkins v Kovalev. Some thought that Kovalev could only punch, and some thought that his power was going to get him the W: in reality it was his boxing ability that got the W.

"Throw caution to the wind". Yea, as a last effort it´s acceptable to initiate such tactics but lets not forget that Ward is a known for his defence and countering abilities.

Kovalev>Froch :deal Ward wont have it easy.

And just because you dont like Ward, shouldn´t mean that you let your own bias get the better of you.

That's right it was his boxing ability (backed by power) against Hopkins - one of the great boxers of recent times - that got the lopsided win. That was my point. He is a good/very good boxer with tremendous power. Froch was okay, Kovalev is a different level completely - power, skill and iq wise.

When I say easy, I mean in the sense of all people are hyping this to be. It's not going to be as hard fought as some seem to think in my opinion.

Ward's powder puffery is a big problem for him against a good smart boxer/KRUSHER like Kovalev.

And you can bet Kovalev will come in there having studied and prepared for Ward very well.

We really don't know how tough Ward is and how he will react once he's hit by a puncher on Kovalev's level Kovalev is murder to the head or body.

If Kovalev gets his jab going, he's going to win.

For Ward to win, he's going to need to hit hard enough for Kovalev to respect him and box.

One thing to watch is Kovalev's timing. It's excellent.

I'll pick Kovalev via 6-8th round TKO with the cards close to even at the time of the stoppage.

    :deal

JDJ has been vocal about Ward's apparent "lack of power" - which tells me that they really don't have a gameplan or lack confidence in the gameplan that they have come up with so far. If they're telling Kovalev that he'll be able to walk through anything Ward has and just go out there and blast him out - Kovalev is gonna be in for a RUDE awakening.

Kovalev too big too strong. Lots of spoiling and fouls by Ward. The judges will have this close, regardless of what's going on in the ring.

I still have Kov favored because Ward lacks a natural right hand. I'm not sold on guys who only use hooks. Tito, Dlh, Cotto, JuanMa, and many many guys come up short when met with guys who could use either hand. Ward is so smart that the fight will be very interesting.

Kov can't fight inside or at least we don't know yet, and Ward lacks a big right hand. That is why the fight is interesting. Both have flaws yet both are undefeated. I favor Kov slightly just as I favored Hop over Tito, Shane over Dlh, Pac and Floyd over Cotto, and Salido over JuanMa.

    LMAO.

Tito, dlh and Cotto were NOT one handed fighters. You could make the argument that de la Hoya lacked a right hand earlier in his career but Mayweather Sr pretty much fixed that as well as it could be fixed. Anyhow, Those guys all have resumes that urinate and defecate on Kovalev's resume...

Pick em fight really with a slight lean towards Ward after seeing how Chilemba was able to make Kovalev miss.
