Can it be a one sided beatdown? Yes. Like Mayweather vs Corrales or Rigondeaux Donaire, fights that were close on the paper, but you can't say it is a close match on the paper, on the paper the fight is 50/50, no matter if you are fan of Kovalev or Ward.

Anything can happen but I expect a Ward decision. Still I think its gonna be a close fight with some very interesting last few rds, where I see Kovalev headhunting like crazy. I just cant see that Ward is more diminished at 32 than BHop at 50.
