You saw Kovalev land some good hooks? That was one of the most uneventful rounds of the fight. There was only one semi good punch landed and that was by Ward. And furthermore, yes but I also thought Kovalev's one good jab in round 1 won him the round.
2 of the 3 judges had the round for Kovalev. And, I can see that...But it's a round that could swing to Ward, based on how close it was.
Kovalev lands a better jab than this jab to the body you claim around 30 secs before the end and a better jab than that on the bell. Do you deny this?
Talking round 3 only. yes between 9:10 - 20 the hooks This content is protected Tell me what better hooks ward landed in that minute? Interesting you agree Kovalev won the round. He landed more though Ward did land a decent jab but Kovalev landed hooks and jabs and controlled the round
Kov walks right into a jab within the first 10 seconds. Ward holds Kov immediately after landing it. Both guys posture. Ward throws a lead right and immediately goes for a tackle that sends Kov across the ring into the ropes. Ref steps in. Warns of clean fight. Kov says this is bs. Tried to awkwardly give dap as Ward has none of it. Ward lands a jab to the body. Kov lands a jab up top but then throws another 3 or 4 punches that Ward dodges. Ward holds. We're at a minute into the round now. I'm giving first minute to Ward. Ward slips a jab and holds Kov again. 30 seconds into minute two, Kov has missed 3 shots. Ward lands a clean jab. 1:28 into a round, Kov lands a soft jab. Ward charges Kov a la Tyson bobbing left and right, lands a decent left hook. Ward holds. Kov pushes Ward across the ring to the ropes while Ward is working the body and throwing punches during the clinch fest. Ref breaks it up. We're at 2:00 minutes into the round. Ward throws a left hook that's blocked but immediately follows with a jab/hook that snaps Kovs head back. Last minute after that jab, neither guy does nothing. Ward does manage to make Kov miss about 7 shots while standing in front of him. Ward round. Ugly close round but Ward got it.
Kov's jab to the body seems to connect, but Ward slips that final jab, changing head slots to take the sting out of it.
Once again you are wrong. Im trying to see how some scored that round and just look down this thread and you will see most have agreed with me and also 2/3 judges scored that round for Kovalev also. Thats you done!
Is "bull's him into the ropes" now the Ward fan's version of attempting an illegal single leg take down?
I guess you are trying to make sure you dont change what you originally scored. You write close round but have only really noted Wards work, but if that were the case how you write it then it wouldnt have been close to you I dont expect. A grapple isnt scoring Ward did land a couple of jabs but before the end of that first minute, Kovalev lands better in his combo which is more punches landed there and better Ward did land a jab when you said but Kovalev landed a double jab and a hook then missed with the next hook, after that landed 2 better hooks with his back to the ropes for the second minute. Third minute its really all Kovalev though very little happens
Effective aggression scores against Kov as he was made to miss a lot of shots and defense goes to Ward as he made Kov miss a lot of shots. For that reason alone Ward got the round especially in the third minute, Kov followed Ward around missed clear shots. Are you giving it too him because he walked forward and threw punches lmao. Ward landed the cleaner, clearer shots.
Of course Kovalev won round 3. By that stage they just started giving Ward rounds where he did better than expected. It was a gross display of collusion.
