You're clueless if you think that. here is a partial list of people that said Kovalev won: Larry Merchant Harold Lederman Roy Jones Oscar De La Hoya Vasyl Lochenko Robert Byrd (referree for the fight) Max Kellerman Dan Rafael Michael Buffer And so on- when someone can compile a list that is more credible than that I will begin to take it seriously. Most of those listed were in attendance and have no affiliation one way or the other. They are not promoters looking to get the winner in the ring etc. One guy was in control and never hurt, never hit with a combination for 12 rounds the other guy was in survival mode employing wrestling tactics and punching in clinches to score pts mixing in with an occasional outside jab that would be countered with a follow up jab from his opponent. Clear win for Kovalev
Thanks for the correction. I just looked into it and you're correct. The real Robert Byrd declined to say who he felt won.
this thread is only about round 3 though which Ward won. I could see an argument that Kova won the fight though just not round 3
He said a week later on the fight game. He said that is how he felt watching it live. Before that- the following week when the replay aired on HBO with the Lomochenko Walters bout Kellerman said when he went home and scored the fight round by round he gave it to Kovalev by a round
This makes me wonder if you even watched the round? Kovalev was the only fighter who landed in the last minute and had Ward backing up and you say being the only fighter who landed, scores against him because he was throwing more lol
