Anybody who scores for punches missed or defense is completely wrong. If I throw a million punches and land 3 and you throw 3 and land 2, all other things being equal (power, chin, etc.), I win, I hit you more.
It has nothing to do with what happened in round one and two. I only analyzed round three as this is the one that you commented on. In your blind hate for Ward, or blind love for Kovalev, you purposefully refuse to acknowledge Wards scoring blows during the round, while hyping up Kovalev hitting Wards gloves, which isn't scoring.
These comments of yours here show an agenda and show how you are trying to score rounds with a pre made opinion. I dont have a blind love or hate for either and didnt care who won. I did think Kovalev was the winner but that was only my opinion and doesnt count for anything, but you here are trying to score rounds when a fighter is being moved around the ring and landing a couple of jabs after taking flush hooks in a round when backed up and saying there is no dispute. Now that is either blind love or hate
So did I, but defense has to be taken into consideration, and if the other guy is landing at the same clip while throwing a lot less, he's probably getting the round based on ring generalship and defense.
No, I came to my conclusion after rewatching the round several times, and observing what each did. It's clear that Ward landed more scoring punches that round. Ward landed hooks as well, and more jabs. Kovalev punching Wards glove doesn't win him the round, neither do Kovalev's attempts at wrestling. Kovalev was also moved back by some Ward punches in the round. Some of you all, in your blind hate for Ward, give Kovalev punch multipliers. Each one of his shots that lands, must be worth five.
Ok. You calm yourself down. You were not able to compose yourself and make a decent argument even when shown otherwise and you best go along with what you feel. You scored round 3 for Ward and I scored round 3 to Kovalev due to what I felt was the better work, harder punches, and being the fighter moving Ward around the ring rather than a couple of good jabs
Yep, and Ward only landed 10 less punches at a much higher percentage. Clearly he was more efficient.
Ummmmm ... the fact that Ward's faced was lumped up after the fight and that Sergey went off afterwards for a photoshoot for men's lotion?
We are discussing the 3rd round. Ward seemed to land the harder shots of the round as well as more punches. As far as bruising, sure Ward was bruised. Kovalev is a hard puncher. I also saw Kovalev's snot box with a knot on it, and leaking later in the fight from Ward's jabs.
