Good video, good assessment and I agree I'd love to see Froch-Hopkins but too much risk involved for the Cobra and not enough reward.

Sadly for you, you picked the wrong day to release it. But how could anyone have predicted the Garcia-Salka like abomination that is Canelo-Khan.

Nelo Yellow to Donovan's Mellow Yellow....think about it.:yep

    Thanks CST80. :cheers

And yeah, the best fight of the ones I pondered involving Hopkins would be Froch for sure, IMO.

My fear was that Ward, Golovkin, and/or Hopkins would announce fights. I woke up on saw my thread somewhere on page 3 with a slew of Canelo-Khan threads dominating page 1.

But now it looks like GGG has already signed now, too?

If only all this news broke tomorrow.

If it wasn't for Thurman-Porter, I'd be tempted to forget about boxing for 6 months or so and just tell my brother to text me when Kovalev-Ward got signed or something. :-(

I still have a sneaking feeling that stylistically for Kovalev the toughest fight is Beterbiev.

Great vid Rummy, thought you were a Jets fan though?

Maybe Hopkins will fight Monaghan? Everyone else is taken or with Haymon at 168 and 175.

Good work Rummy. I was really hyped about Kovalev-Ward, but after hearing your breakdown on it, I'm starting to think Kovalev might have to move to cruiser amd challenge someone like Lebedev or Drozd to be in a competitive fight. Just like in Golovkin's case, if noone can beat you, then fight someone bigger. :yep

Hey, how about B-Hop vs Andy Lee @168? It might look like a mismatch but with the factor of weight draining at the age 51 and with Lee's heart, power and stamina, this one could be interesting too. :think

    I'm not seeing it personally.

Of course, with the freakish power factor, either guy could KO the other. But Kovalev is too far advanced in too many important aspects for me to envision Beterbiev being his toughest fight.

I think Kovalev would control him with his vastly superior jab and better foot positioning.

    Thanks for watching! :good

I grew up a 49ers fan actually. Big Montana fan as a child, and have probably owned that hat for like 20 years.

I wish I had some idea of who Hopkins was facing. His interview definitely sparked my interest.

The difference, I think, at least for me - is I don't see anyone having much of a chance of beating Golovkin or even being seriously competitive. But at light heavy, while I would favor Kovalev against anyone, there are some opponents whom I can envision giving him trouble along the way.

And make no mistake - I'm still seriously fired-up at the prospects of Kovalev-Ward. I think it's the most intriguing fight that can be made right now.

Thanks for the continued support! :thumbsup
