It was a good fight, a fight that I definitely enjoyed. It was very very close, while ward won, I would not argue Kovalev winning either way. It could have gone differently, razor thin. I personally had it 114-113 Ward. How about we just appreciate it wasn't a boring fight and we will probably get a rematch.
I didn't think it was "very, very" close at all personally. Kovalev controlled most of the fight, while Ward had his successes he was getting walked down and was hurt a good few times, he couldnt dent Kovalev although he looked to be tiring down the stretch. Ward did a great job of not allowing the momentum to go all the way in favour of Kovelev but I don't thing he quite did enough in the end to take a champs belt. I think fans will see it the way they want which is understandable, I like Ward but I thought he looked the beaten man.
It was a one sided easy to see win for Kovalev. Ward did little to suggest he won,he backed up the entire time a,was knocked down and was hit more and by the better shots . He was not the champion either so you cant even give him that in his defense . The fight itself was boring imop which i don't say often, but it was a clear robbery ,Ward won no more than 4 rnds if that and Kovalev had a 8 /10 rnd so this should be easy to see.
It was a close fight and full credit to Ward for getting back into the fight and making it close. However Kovalev clearly deserved the win. Who can deny that score cards are often home cooked in favour of the home fighter? We've all seen it happen time and again. Boxing is corrupt, always has been. The Hooker vs Perez decision on the undercard was also home cooked.
