you can believe the over training stories. but the fact is Kovalev was loading up on every shot vs alvarez. rematch he listened to buddy McGirt perfectly lighter punches controlled workrate. I never felt he was close to stopping or really hurting Alvarez. I'm not sure what Kovalev does vs a bigger name even vs Bivol I favour Kovalev. but anyway McGirt isn't a trainer I overly like but for a certain style fighter he works. A power puncher he tells them not stop loading up and it works big time.
He lost the fight . Due to exhaustion in my opinion. Lucky shot fluke shot that's what I been saying and that's how I been seeing it . I never thought Alvarez was up there he just his moment against Kovalev. That was it . Alot of people wanted Kovalev to lose based off their own hatred for krusher . Sorry guys you want someone to destroy Kovalev you're gonna need someone that can box and power puncher . Not waits all night (in both fights ) for a single shot.
Kovalev was working too hard. he wont be able to throw power punches with a lot of power and go the distance anymore.
