I put money on Kovalev as well. But when I saw that Kovalev couldn't make weight first, and I heard about the rehydration clause, I cancelled the bet.

Yeah, it could be we're overreacting. It didn’t take Kovalev hours to make weight (after the first failed attempts) and 10 pounds of the rehydration clause is maybe a nuisance but shouldn’t be a huge problem for Kovalev who’s not a fan of losing/gaining a lot of weight.

I would be worried If he had to lose a lot of weight but it was only 1/4 lb

Insane. It probably took a full 3 weeks for him just not to be sore anymore. And 6 weeks to prepare while still fulfilling press tour obligations is not ideal at all. The rehydration clause is the icing on the cake. The cards are stacked against Kovalev big time I expect to see him winded by the 6th round. If he's not completely gassed by then I will be 100% shocked, he's in for a long night he's operating on half a tank.

OK, so make a list of the injuries and wear that Kovalev has? I'll wait. meanwhile, Canelo has been a pro since he was 15 (Kovalev since 26).. Canelo has had surgeries on his knees, wears knee braces in his last 3 fights, broken his hand, ankle, has his shoulders always taped up (who knows what other injuries he's hiding) ... So who really has more wear?

Think the effects of several things may show up in the fight tonight. Kovalev is 36 (?), lost a couple times, had couple fights this year. the wear and tear combined with the age will have to show. Combined with this and the small amount of training camp time. He might not look too well......right up until he rams his fist down ginger's mouths and knocks him TFO.

I certainly don't back him. I hope Sergey has the night of his his life & kicks the Ginger cheaters ass. Have you ever seen Fishnets & Ginger be honest about anything?? I havent. Ive said this about them all along & got attacked for it. Now people are seeing I was right. They seem to do exactly what they want & Bob Bennett & the NSAC sit back & let them do it. Then cover their asses if anyone complains
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAR KOVALEV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why kovalev fans have so little faith in their boy?

Canelo has never fought at 175 and will not have ko power or be able to take kovalevs power.

The more I think about the more I think canelo is biting off way more than he can chew.

Kovalev will have a massive height, reach, size and power advantage and should be able to walk right through canelos punches which will be like swatting a fly away.

Rooting for canelo but will not be surprised if he gets destroyed tonight.

Very well put Serge. This isn’t Krusher anymore is it?Hes mentioned this in interviews about changing his style to boxing and wether this was just his English I don’t know but he was talking about not going for the knockout anymore and winning on points.
Felt so bad for Kovalev as I did Golovkin in that after the first Ward fight he said I came here to show everyone I can box and this is what they do to me.Kovalev knockouts were pretty much a given and yet Yarde aside we’ve not seen any in a while.
Lol this is how much folk don’t trust Canelo_One guy made a comment on Counter punch boxing yesterday about Kovalevs charges being dropped after his loss to Canelo?Ok so that’s real tinfoil hat territory but you see why folk don’t feel they can trust Canelo and Oscar anymore.
Folk were thinking well of this until yesterday’s weight stipulation came out.

Sadly the fight played out exactly how I projected in this thread. Kovalev had no stamina, strength, power and punch resistance due to the combination of his age, short preparation time and rehydration clause. He got totally spent from the 8th round even though the pace was slow, he mostly threw jabs and barely got punched hard, yet he still gassed and got knocked out by a middleweight who isn't even a big puncher.

Canelo "Scavenger" Alvarez once again feasted on a shot old fighter using his A side advantages.

Kovalev looked like sh*t how shocking. Who would have ever thought that having a 2 month turnaround between fights and being bound by a rehydration clause be so hindering. :hello:

Let me congratulate you on a perfect prediction, not often you see one as spot on. I thought it might be 50/50 if Kovalev had one more effort in him but last night I watched Kov's fights with Hopkins and the first Ward fight and Compared those with Kovalev's last 2 fights. The eye test confirmed Kov was ready to be pushed off the cliff. I thought he looked seriously weak . It was , a cash out fight
