Its the same as walking to Everest Base Camp & going home to tell everyone you climbed to the summit of Mount Everest.

Re-hydration clauses are fair play, a boxer should be able to perform at his weight class, re-hydration is a privilege not a law

Asking for a 170 Catch-weight is justified if Canelo 160 & 168 titles are on the line

Khan was significantly lighter than Canelo in their fight whereas Brook was heavier than Golovkin. Think about that. Also, Brook never had problems with his face until he ran into GGG ;)

I hate all catchweights but Khan was getting his **** pushed in at 135. His fight with Canelo was in his 4th division. Brook was fighting in a division 2 above where he started.

Both were **** fights so I didn't care for either but Golovkin can claim he was looking to fight middleweight CEJ who pulled out as Brook stepped in where Canelo wanted Khan's china chinned self from the get go. Both pointless cash grabs - one pre-meditated and one opportunistic.

That’s now how catch weight works. You can’t fight for 168 if you weight more than 168. What ever sanctioning body OKs that would be broke from lawsuit of rvery fighter that had to surrender their belt cause they came over the weight limit.

Catch weight is for None title or for preventing a bigger fighter from coming in at the weight limit of the belt.

There were plenty of fighters willing to take Brooks place.

Khan moved up 8 lbs to fight Canelo who he himself came from 147 and had not fought above 155.

Brook moved up 13 lbs to fight career MW KO King Golovkin.

Brook is a naturally much bigger man than Khan. He started his career two weight classes above Khan.

But let's not let you derail this thread and what it's about with yet another Golovkin/Canelo back and forth. Let's focus on what's being discussed here: how would you feel about Canelo challenging Kovalev at a catch weight?

You are correct Kovalev not in the position to make those demands. However, if Canelo wants to fight for 147 at 150, its possible, the WBC will simply move up the weight limit to 150 until Canelo wins the belt then restore it back to 147. 100% Legal
