Kovalev (with McGirt) right now looks like more of a threat to Canelo than GGG

I don't even think they were fights of the year candidates.

They were exciting no doubt but I felt Chenko GGG was more of a nail biter.

 

Fight is +110 to not go 12...

Kovalev has a natural style advantage over Golovkin with his length and jab that Derevyanchenko didn’t. Derev had to get inside and take punishment to get his best work done, Kovalev can keep GGG honest from the outside, and GGG will struggle much more than usual to land his own jab.
Kovalev is by far the harder fight for GGG, Canelo or anyone else, If you had the slightest clue about boxing you would realise this.

 

Orrrrr ... on the other hand Golovkin has sparred Kovalev often and its a fact that if anybody had a hard time, it was Kovalev. Sure, sparring isn't a fight, but it does measure styles and it seems clear enough from reports that Golovkin can handle Kovalev's style just fine. Kovalev has commented a few times on how relentless GGG is and how he never seems to get tired. That's telling when SK has had stamina problems himself in the past. I haven't seen anybody take Golovkin's jab away, ever. It's possible that he holds his own against Kovalev. But we wouldn't know without them actually fighting. The Derevyanchenko fight tells us little about how SK matches to GGG.

 

If Devervcheko had ggg in trouble, imagine what Kova will do to him...

And Jose Cotto hurt canelo as well when they fought. Does that mean everyone better than Jose WOULD KO Canelo?

If Derev could hurt GGG like that in their fight, it’s only logical to assume Kovalev would do far worse being 2 divisions heavier and a much, much bigger puncher. It’s really not rocket science.

A 17 year old is obviously not fully physically developed, not as strong, not as powerful, not as durable. A fully grown man’s ability to take a shot is much greater than a 17 year old kid still going through puberty. You should be embarrassed you need this explained to you.
