Yeah keep pretending those two situations are analogous. Kovalev was hurt, backpedaling, and hunched over letting himself be at Ward's mercy. The punch being an inch or two low doesn't change a damn thing.
Ward had a good moment in the fight and this suddenly allows him to low blow someone 3 times in a row and then get like the weirdest stoppage win ever on top of it? Never mind that the only reason why he got Kovalev hurt was because of his illegal shots earlier in the fight. By your logic the first fight should have been a stoppage win for Kovalev in the 2nd round then. Maybe he should have hit Ward with some solid elbows after the knock down since it "wouldn't change a damn thing".
lol @ "A good moment". Kovalev was hurt, got beat up the whole round, hunched over without defending himself, and got stopped. There is nothing that happened to Ward in this fight you could compare it to. Stop reaching. Just accept that Kovalev lost.
Ward only got him hurt becuase of the earlier low blows and because the ref didn't punish him for his clearly illegal tacits. Like I said, by your logic the first fight could have been magically stopped at the 2nd round in favor of Kovalev. In fact if that fight was in Russia and this would indeed happen you would all go crazy. But in this case it's somehow fair... LMAO.
...? So what happened to you guys saying Kovalev will KO him early and absolutely destroy him? Not the best decision for the stoppage but Kovalev was going to struggle in the round regardless because he was shaken from the right hand.
The only reason why this happened was because Ward used low blows throughout the entire fight. Kovalev would have knocked him out if this was a legitimate boxing fight and not a fight where one fighter can use whatever he wants while the other one has to play by the rules.
And you know that because?.. From the number of threads you've done moaning it sounds like you was a ward hater and can't accept it that he won.
Drachenorden......what the hell is wrong with you? Just a sore loser I guess. Yes, I thought Kovalev was going to win this rematch. However, I am willing to admit that there is nothing wrong with punching your opponent low throughout the fight as it cannot possibly hurt him or sap his strength...or even effect him in any way. The testicles are meant to take such punishment...being punched low cannot possibly hurt you and it is certainly not against the rules. Nothing wrong with turning a boxing match into a greco roman WWE spectacle. You should just man up and admit it. Early stoppages are just a way of letting the crowd get home early.
At the end of the day Kovalev was exposed as a bully who when the going got tough couldn't take it. Mentally he couldn't handle an opponent who wasn't intimidated by him. Sure there were a couple of low blows in there at the end but he was already badly hurt and on his way out from the head shot. He basically went down without a murmer.
