bernard hopkins... stylistically speaking, bhop and ward have a lot of similarities. they both have that same jump in range throw a flurry and jump out before their opponent resets or reacts. bernard hopkins did not lose to kovalev because he's 49.. he lost because kovalev simply hit way too hard to use any of that sneak in and out sh*t that he usually does. even kovalev's jabs had bernard completely gunshy. unless you're marvin hagler, ray robinson, jake lamotta, carmen basilio or anyone else who's chin is unhuman there is no way in hell ANYBODY is going to be able to take any of kovalev's punches because he hits like a heavyweight with medium power. kovalev is an outboxer. he's not a pressure fighter, or an ambush douchebag, he's an outboxer/counterpuncher. his approach is very patient and educated and there's life ending power behind it. i give ward absolutely no chance
Ward is better offensively than grandpa hopkins. But hopkins has an iron chin, ward hasn't got the chin.
They have a lot of differences, too. Ward is superior to Hopkins in several regards, most notably stamina, punch output, and having a far superior left hand (both jab and hook). Hopkins has a better right hand, but against Kovalev I think the left hook is a better weapon.
Do you not know how these forums work at this point? If you get beat once, no matter by who, you're a fraud. Oh and if you haven't, that means you cherrypicked, so you're a still a fraud waiting to be exposed.
He couldn't KO Paul Smith properly but Groves made very short work of him and DeGale got him out too, although a little bit later.
I see Ward doing better than Hopkins. I don't see him getting knocked out. Ward has a good chance of beating Kovalev if this happens. It would be interesting to see.
Why doesn't anybody want to see Ward fight Groves or DeGale? Those seem like the most realistic fights for him? Instead everyone wants him to move up or down to fight GGG and Kovalev. I don't get it. Sure, it would be nice, and yes it's possible to make those fights; but Ward hasn't shown any sign that he's the kind of fighter who would go for those sorts of fights.
