U mean ward would run and clinch and lead with his head? I don't think so..the eastern euros have worked out how to fix that problem.
Their has always been this weird personality cult around Ward. He is a technical boxer who uses his physical advantages during lapses in his activity. After scoring he blunts the opponents counter attacks by clinching or leading with his head or an elbow. Most of his game plan is too steal time and dictate the pace with the above tatics. Nothing has changed for years and he has not improved as a fighter during that time with the exception of getting a bit stronger. In short: Ward fights the same way everytime out. His supporters are going to be nothing short of alarmed if he ever fights Kovalev.
yep! :good I am a huge Ward fan, but against Kovalev, he would get his @ss tore up by the mid-rounds. Not that Kovalev is the new SRR, but styles make fights, and Ward would not be able to just counter and hold against Kovalev.
It is a bad fight style wise for Ward. His biggest assets the clinch, grabbing, holding, and bending below the waist he won't be able to do. Ward has a very questionable Chin and against a savage puncher that spells disaster. Kovalev by brutal KO.
Kovalev has been knocked down the same amount of times as Ward, and was KD'd as an amateur too. Your argument in invalid.
Forshaw But if butter beef even clips him - Sergey will be put in a mode we've NEVER seen him in before Hell he was even reluctnt to go in with Hopkin
How would that guy know anything? We have Jake Lamotta's word on here and he talks with Ward via social media. Far more credible than some pro fighter who actually fought Kovalev.
Ive sparred with the guy Hes ruthless I knocked him down a couple of times, then he got angry, and put me on the floor The guy's got a huge ego, dont mess with him
