So Canelo will not be fighting Kovalev. Instead Sergey will be defending the WBO Light Heavyweight Championship in Chelyabinsk, Russia against Anthony Yarde, his undefeated mandatory challenger on August 24, 2019. Who wins this matchup? Vote and comment.

Honestly, I haven't seen enough of Yarde. But Kov's chin is so suspect right now and he's odl af that him getting knocked out is something I wouldn't be surprised at. But Kov could eat him alive too.

I'm rooting for my boy Kovalev.. I think Yarde gasses in four rounds. Alvarez > yarde

Huge step up for Yarde. Never even fought someone that could punch himself out of a paper bag, and now he's going up against one of the biggest punchers P4P.

Upsets are possible in boxing, certainly against a past it figghter like current Kova, but it probably ends KO4 or 5.

I honestly have no idea how anybody can pick Yarde. Not saying he won't win but what on earth are you basing it on?

Genuine question, id love a breakdown.

I think that the two fighters Kovalev knocked out between the Ward and Alvarez KO losses, they both beat Yarde. That's how weak Yarde really is.

One of them is getting stopped. I doubt this fight will go all 12 rounds.

    Let's say it's Kovalev 70%, Yarde 30% to win.

I don't know why but even though I know Kovalev has the experience and power to get the win I can't shake the ominous feeling that Yarde has his number.

We're gonna see one round of fast, intense aggression from Yarde...followed by 2-3 more rounds of dominance by Kovalev before Kovalev embarrasses Yarde by slamming him permanently to the canvas.

Just look at Yarde's last fight, and you'll see exactly what I mean. He throws the kitchen sink at his opponent in the first round. If boxing were a 1 round contest I have no doubt in my mind that Anthony Yarde would be the greatest fighter that ever lived. Unfortunately for him that isn't the case.

His stamina management is useless. He was heavily breathing in like round 3 in his last fight for goodness sakes.

That coupled with overrated power, a garbage set of skills and the huge gulf in experience between the two means there can only be one winner. Kovalev could be 50 years old, be blind in one eye and still beat this clown.

I'll vote for Kovalev. He's a good boxer as well as having power. Fighting at home I think he'll take this seriously and come in good shape.

Kovalev by frightening KO. Yarde is nothing more than a manufactured fraud, and stopping overmatched Hungarians and Estonians who aren't punching back at him will in no way, shape or form prepare him for Kovalev.

Kovalev is an elite level boxer with elite power. He lost to Ward (p4p talent), and was caught asleep at the wheel by Alvarez (another very good boxer) while comfortably ahead and he rectified that oversight in a rematch.

    Kovalev tko 5 over Yarde
