There is no value in a Kovalev rematch and Kovalev is on the verge of retirement after his next fight anyway.

Yarde needs to be facing the likes of Joshua Buatsi or Callum Johnson.

He isnt anywhere near ready for the elite of the division: Beterbiev, Gvozdyk or Bivol

I myself had him winning 7 and 8, but a lot of people have given him the 1st, which was a close one.
Everything between 7 to 3 and 9 to 1 after 10 was ok in my opinion, but I even saw a couple of Yarde nuthuggers having him up after 10 in the RbR, which is insane of course. Even the official scores were very kind to Yarde, with one judge even finding 4 rounds for him, but probably scored round 10 a 10-8 for Kova (96-93).

Nothing to gain from a rematch except to avenge a loss. He learnt a lot from it, and will no doubt come back a different fighter, as that fight has changed him forever.. most likely for the good.

He stepped up from bums to Kovalev in a single bound, and did better than most people expected... if he had better training, more experience and a better trainer, he could become a light version of Roy Jones Jr, but he'd need another 3 years of adjustments and good fights to get there.

He needs to revisit his mentality of planting the feet and staying rigid in the pro's... some movement will do wonders for him, even basic lateral steps.
