I think a lot of it has to do with his size. Kovalev is a big, strong, light heavyweight boxer. A guy this size with great natural power is such a scary, intimidating and dangerous guy. Remember how ruthless and crazed Pacquiao was at 122-126? The way he unrelentingly looked for blood against Barrera was completely savage. He wanted to send him into a coma. But since he's a featherweight he didn't get the psycho label.
Its actually refreshing to see someone that wants to get in there and smash opponents ( i dont mean kill or seriously hurt) and have a nasty side. Last thing we need are pc boxers
Ive been saying this for a while now, Kovalev is on the way to becoming an ATG....IF he keeps his head screwed on straight.
He doesn't even come close to having the resume of an ATG though I can see him in the HOF. He's needs to fight some big name guys.
This aint like the old days where the best fought the best In this era the best duck the best Its disgusting but it is what it is And so resume means nowhere near what it should
He seems a little psychopathic whilst in there but it's boxing isn't it, he's there to beat the other guy into submission and I guess he really enjoys it. You have Brandon Rios who laughs his *******s off when somebody really puts an impressive dent in his face.
Did you not see the special where the Krusher lost his favorite dog he takes out all of his pain against his opoonents
If you're worried about Kovalevs compassion read about what he did in the aftermath of Simakov's death... Bought his parents plane tickets so they could see their son(this was before he died) And he gave them his full purse from his next fight. Just because it didn't ruin him as a fighter doesn't mean he is without compassion.
