Kovalev's punches in the 2nd half of the fight were sloppy...

Well I thought he tried to toe the line and gave Krusher some credit at times. Max and Roy were certainly favoring Ward and disagreeing with Lederman. I thought Lederman giving Kovalev the 9th was just utterly ridiculous. Lampley certainly had his moments where he showed himself leaning towards Kovalev, like in the last round with the "sand in the hourglass" comment. But all in all I can't hate on Jim Max or Roy tonight. I thought collectively they did a great job, calling Lederman out on his BS esp Max by saying throughout that Ward could have won many of the rounds that Lederman gave to Kov, like rounds 3 and 4, etc.

I think Roy was unbiased, and Max was giving Ward his props because of Lampley. He wasn't really taking any sides in the beginning, but after Lampley was CLEARLY cheerleading for Kov, Max started to side with Ward, and explain things from a different perspective.

I can. Quite apart from any scoring or who they were favouring, their commentary was a babbling load of shoite where Max & Roy keep competing and correcting each other. It's cringey and tedious to listen to and they do it nearly every time.

It was organic IMHO. Jim was truly getting emotional towards the end, I think he was inspired by Ward's effort but thought maybe it wouldn't be enough. This was high drama and I personally thought Jim did a great job playin devil's advocate if you will making Krusher's lead seem insurmountable at times. I thought Max and Roy balanced that out. If they all were cheerleading for Ward they may have come across as biased. I hear what you're saying and you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but my only problem (as usual) with the HBO telecast was Lederman.

I was happy that Max stepped up and vehemently disagreed with Lederman where he did. Roy did a great job on the mic as usual.
