Kovalev's Trainer: Prime Roy Jones, Toney Would School Golovkin!

I think Toney GGG would have been a war and would love to have seen that. I agree Roy would school him, Jones for sure, at his best, was unreal. Managed to get Roy's career on DVD a good few years ago spent hours watching him.

 

Jones' two biggest wins were Hopkins and Toney. Both of them were incredible defensive fighters.

Golovkin presents a different styles challenge. He can press the action and initiate offense.

Jones was given free reign against Toney and Hopkins. GGG would try to smother him.

 

Interesting, coming from someone who knows boxing. I always felt like Golovkin was too slow, just all around. I think he's very skilled but we won't know until he faces a real threat.

 

GGG is faster than Monzon who many people think is the division's greatest fighter ever.

 

First I've heard that.

 

Everyone thinks the era they fought in was the absolute best, wonder what's going to be thinking in a couple years when ggg is ready for the lhw king, which will guaranteed still be kovalev.

Even kovalev knows ggg would end his reign. Anyone can say anything they want and still beleven it 100%. The only confusing thing is when ones belief is proven wrong in the ring yet, they still believe the opposite is somehow a fact.

Everyone has their opinions, no matter what they are

 

GGG loses to no one...ever.....maybe to kovalev...but lets face it...ggg and kovalev probably fight the greatest fight ever which ends in a draw and each guy gushing about how great the other one is

 

Jones jr was like was like Mayweather refusing to think about fighting away from home . Sure Jones got blatantly robbed in Seoul no one can deny that BUT Getting robbed did as much, if not more, for his career. It gave him carte blancte to pick & choose who HE wanted to meet & where. Look down his record & see the list of postmen police officers part time fighters he defended his title against. While he real contenders were avoided
He was good but could have been a lot better. I honestly don't know if Roy's fragile mandible could take Golovkin's power Its a fight I'd have loved to see

I don't even think Daniel geale could pass the physical fitness portion of a police test

What's the relevance? These fights will never happen?
