Oh yeah definitely, I agree with Kovalev's trainer but there's no shame in losing to the best versions of either Jones Jr. or Toney. We're talking about two ATG-level HOF's. Prime Jones Jr. was basically untouchable and Toney was one of the best counterpunchers in the history of boxing who also had a granite chin. These are two of the best guys that have ever fought in the history of boxing, ever. There's nothing wrong with being a notch or two below that.

Yeah exactly, it's more of an affirmation of just how great Jones Jr. and Toney were rather than a critique of Golovkin. Prime Jones Jr. and Toney also would've beaten Kovalev, b/t/w.

Jones went up to HW and won a title there over a top 5 HW. Toney holds a KO win over Evander Holyfield. Both of these wins absolutely defecate and urinate on the WHOLE of Kovalev's career...

Pac dismantling Cotto destroyed anything Singsurat did in his career, too. Higher weight accomplishments don't translate to the lower weight H2H versions of guys.

The FACT remains, the quality of Jones' and Toney's wins @ HW defecate and urinate on the WHOLE of Kovalev's career.

That doesn't disprove a word of what I or Aqua just said.

Better put some more words in bold. If you can't be right, you might as well be loud.

He is telling the real truth about Little g, perhaps to defuse the unrealistic HYPE of Sanchez and delusional GiGi fans.

He has confirmed my numerous observation that this era of MWs is far less than past MW talents.

He has confirmed that for whatever reason, after 9 years Golovkin has FAILED to face and fight this era's top talents.

He confirms that Little g is not a mega-star, but rather, a mega-hype.

He is indirectly stating that Kovalev would destroy Little g in an actual boxing match-up.

He avoided speaking about the Mysterious Blue Bottle contents he feeds Kovalev inbetween rounds in fights.

It's relevent because 3G fans are continualy making statements that G Man beats all middle weight greats in history! So naturally boxing fans are going to voice their opinions!

For instance, JDJ made the comment about 3G fans saying G Man beats Hagler! There was a thread the other day about that very thing. I asked the guy who made that thread who exactly has 3G beat to make him and other 3G fans believe that. Not 1 single 3G fan responded. Insteasd he made claims that I was racist. LOL Nothing can be farther from the truth!

I made it clear that I believe 3G is a top talent and would probably give the best throughout the sports history a run for their money but, until he whoops up on some top guys, claiming he beats the best ever cannot be made.

I agree with Jackson. The fight with JOnes Jr would've been interesting, because a few flush shots by Gennady could've possibly changed the dynamic in that fight. I still would heavily favor an ultra athletic Jones to beat him.

An in shape and focused Toney would be poisonous for someone like GGG. Toney at MW was technically sublime; an elite counterpuncher, terrific combination puncher and great punch placement in general, a guy who thrives fighting on the inside/in phone booth style wars and someone who also carries around an iron chin. I think he'd have his way with Golovkin if they ever fought at 160.

I agree that James Toney would beat GGG, but Roy Jones would get KOed.
