mean like he wanted to really hurt the guy. Wow. Kov has his confidence back. Shabrankskyy didn't even look to belong in the same ring with Kov. Kov was punching real hard. I love the face he made lol. He looked like Kobe when Kobe gets mad lol.

The Krusher is back! But how will he fight someone who wants to get inside? We will have to wait and see. Kov would beat the **** out of Bivol. Beterbiev and Stevenson are his toughest fights.

concerned me how often Kov was off balance for how inferior a fighter the other dude was. Kov imposed his will like the old Kov but that wouldn;t have beaten Ward. Still looked one-dimensional, just happens to be realt good at that one thing...bring on chickenson

Gvozdyk will be tough also, but he just lacks power to me. Good boxer but does he punch hard enough to hurt any of the top 3 that I named. We will see.

Yeah, he was a little off balance a few times. But I think (honestly) he was probably a little surprised to see a guy marching forward after landing several flush shots.

I didn't have a problem with his balance Rums. He was throwing with bad intentions. He had anger in him just like Wilder lol. Controlled anger too! Lol

I didn't have a problem with it, either. And I don't think much of it. But I did notice he was clearly off balance a few times.

Like I said, Kovalev wanted revenge, he was bloodthirsty, and when he's pissed, he's focused. I knew he would take out all of his pent up rage and frustrations out on poor Slava, and that it wouldn't be pretty. And it wasn't.

To all the Beterbiev fanboys.... no one will have an easy time getting on the inside with Kovalev, including him. And he will pay dearly if he tries.

He totally controlled the fight against a overmatched opponent and blew him away easily. Can't ask for more than that but will wait until he fights someone better until I say the Krusher is back.

Overall a good indicator that Kov is still a muderous puncher. Whether or not his no MAS fight with Ward has any lingering effects won’t be answered unless he fights someone who has the skills and durability to test his heart. I’m glad he got a knockout in this fashion to add some much needed fuel to his fire.

The nail beats him imo but I think he beats beterbiev and Stevenson is 50/50. Bivol imo is still too much of an unknown but if I had to pick I'd lean towards kovalev.

Bivol is still green imo. Not nearly enough experience at the pro level.

Gvozdyk is another guy like Kovalev, you will pay dearly trying to get inside with him, like Gonzalez and Mohammedi, unfortunately, Baker, Karpency and Chilemba came in looking to survive. Think about it this way, what would you think of Kovalev if his first big step up fights had of been Chilemba, Agnew and Pascal, instead of Cleverly, Campillo and Sillakh?

Gvozdyk is a devastating puncher as well for an aggressive fighter to have to face.

This statement predicates itself on a belief that Kovalev quit or showed a damning lack of heart against Ward, though. I'd argue strongly against that notion. These days, Kennedy McKinney is not a name synonymous with lack of heart or a quitter's mentality, with his Barrera war being the fight people most remember him by. But he initially reacted badly to being hurt in his first fight with Welcome Ncita (more badly than Kovalev did, in a manner that could easily have provoked the official to wave off the fight) before correcting himself, hanging in there and getting the knockout in an ensuing exchange of fire. Kovalev, too, was trying to hang in there and survive the onslaught, and was still firing back just moments before the series of punches that doubled him up and ended the fight. Sadly for Sergey, Andre Ward is no Welcome Ncita.
