Kownacki needs to lose a few pounds. I realize he has an endomorphic build and will always be thickly built, but if he were 10-15 pounds lighter it would make a difference. If he had a bit more stamina in the late rounds he may have stopped Martin.

Martin deserves respect for hanging in there. He kept coming back, despite being hurt several times during the fight.

Somatypes are BS he just eats too much. He can obviously be in better shape he was 242lbs vs Szplika where I think he looked better.

But despite his weight issues his stamina seems pretty good he has the highest work rate of any heavyweight. Where the weight might be an issue is his speed and mobility. At the lighter weight I think he was quicker off the mark he closed in on Szpilka faster and Szplika moves pretty well.

He was lucky that Martin has such poor movement and a jab that couldn't tear tissue paper, he was able to be in his face most of the fight. Against a more fleet footed heavy he might struggle to let his hands go as he's kept at a distance and at a distance Kownacki will struggle as he has such a short reach.

He's an entertaining fighter though, fun to watch even if I don't think he'll be a threat to the top guys, he's a fighter worth following, you'll never get a boring fight with Kownacki. Hopefully he won some fans last night, US could do with another high profile heavy other than Wilder.

They are best friends, probably won't be happening soon.

Yep I think they tried making it before and both declined saying they couldn't fight each other. Might be different if one wins a title but this isn't a fight that will likely happen. Would be a cracking fight though, the sparring footage of them looked very competitive, though Miller was a lot lighter then.

I wont lie, he just looks like another game plodder. It was a good entertaining fight but the quality wasnt exactly shining through, i always thought there was a bit more to him but i didnt really see any of it last night.

Actually I could believe that but in a regional to NYC sense. I was at the Barclays for the Garcia/Porter fight and it seems like Kohnwacki is like a big regional draw there when he was fighting. There must've been several hundred Polish fans there supporting him. They were pretty loud and vocal.

Kownacki is garbage, i don't even know if you guys are watching the fights, it's hilarious. Chisora is levels above this guy.

I don't see him as a top 5 talent, but he makes for a good fight. He should get opportunities soon.

His people should keep him active and learning and fit, he was very active but fizzled in the later rounds, still tough & rugged but 235lbs would look better on his 6'2 frame & give him more speed and pep. Hes young and will improve if moved right. He needs a muscle training cardio program and stay fighting top 20 fighters for a while.

Kownacki is gunna be seeing stars if he fights Wilder, AJ or Ortiz. He can definitely beat Pulev tho, he is competitive with Whyte, Breazeale and the rest. However he has an all action style so I’ll support even though I can see his limitations.
