On paper; Parker should win comfortably if purely assessing their talent or athleticism. But Kownacki's work rate and pressure is a bad match up for him and will make it much closer than it ought to be. Parker's quick enough to close the gap without relying on feints (although I would like to see him feint more) but he consistently struggles to slip out of the pocket cleanly (straight lines, chin up etc etc) and because of this he often gets caught and dragged into panicky exchanges. This is a well documented flaw that many of us have criticised him for since the Takam fight. I'm still backing the Kiwi, but without a change in trainer I can see Kownacki causing Joe the same problems that Ruiz and Takam did. Parker by MD.
Cant wait to see who Kownacki has next. Thats 3 good wins in a row for him. Szpilka, Kiladze and Martin. Not bad. The only HWs that matter now is Fury, Deontay, Joshua, Ortiz and possibly Povetkin only because he has one last shot. Dillian Whyte vs Chisora 2 who cares. Big Baby has Adamek's corpse so thats a good one. Not sold on Usyk beating the giants. HW is a big mans world and dont toss Martin he aint bad if he stays in the gym.
As long as Parker fights at range then it would be a comfortable nights work for him. Kownacki has become very overrated on here.
Parker doesn’t do any smashing nowadays nor has he for quite some time, take your point though as he ought to smash Kownacki and the Parker of a few years ago that made a name for himself would.
Lol he has hasn’t he?should fight Baby Miller as both have the same habits with food but oddly enough look ok in the ring. Whilst everyone else are fighting each other Miller v Kownacki makes sense as theyed both be each other’s best name on their resumes.
They're great mates from all reports, but Miller doesn't seem to want too many tough fights before a world title shiot, whereas Kownacki seems a lot more willing to take on challenging fights despite the fact that I don't think he's anything special. Miller hasn't even been in with a puncher, his opponents he's faced of late have been guys that are durable but barely hit back. I'd back Miller if they did fight for what it's worth.
Bit biased there Mr Polish man...lol Parker beats Adam, he's better in every way. He's fought better opponents at the top of the division. Adam is just coming up to the big boys... Parker has been there done that and went the distance. If they happen to meet sometime soon, I'd put all my money on Parker and buy a house in Poland with the winnings.
The Polish Pastry Chef puts Parker in a hurt locker. Parker just surrendered that WBO belt to the bodybuilder with no resistance at all. Why Joseph? Did Joshua's synthol muscles scare you? Did you make a deal with Eddie Hearn, when you were at his residence drinking a cup of tea and having some scones? Was it to sell that belt like Charles Martin? Damn it, the sooner Deontay goes over to England and starches Joshua out, the sooner the better. Lol.
They are somewhat good wins for Adam's level... but if you continue going overboard with your remarks you are going to need a life jacket. Kownacki has good pressure but what happens when he gets countered on the way in by a good boxer? Martin's boxing skills were amateurish in their fight... if he fights parker he will be in a world of pain. "Whyte vs Chisora? Who cares." - Well they beat Parker and they beat Takam... better opponents than Martin, Szpilka and "Kaladze" Let's not put Adam on such a high stool because he's your favourite fighter... let's wait and see him against a solid top 5.
Parker controls every minute. I still haven't seen Kownacki vs. Martin but I don't really care to and I'm sure nothing about it would change my pick in this. Reading the RBR people were saying Kownacki looked bad even in the first half that he "dominated", simply because Martin was reticent - and then when Martin grew a pair and brought it he started gobbling up rounds and narrowing the margin. So basically, same Kownacki that I've seen before and judged to be not world class. As opposed to Parker, who is still arguably top 4 in the world even if his 2018 campaign hasn't been a rousing success.
I don't think that is really true.. yes he could have done more but he clearly had a plan going in which was to box strategically.. and he ended up getting out boxed by Joshua... strategically. Joshua has good fundamentals like Parker. As for Charles Martin... I don't know... maybe he did sell the belt... but then why return to boxing? It ain't easy competing and training and getting hurt... he could have got up quicker from the knockdown but decided to long it out - mistake or intentional? - not 100% per cent sure. Smart boxers use as much of the knockdown count as they safely can.
Well said, thank you for the voice of reason. Adam is truly untested at elite level. Parker has been tested and deemed worthy enough.
Deontay has been my favorite for years. Obviously your a rookie here or you would know that. The 3 boxers that I have pushed here are Deontay, GGG and Spence in that order. As far as Adam he will not beat the top 4 I mentioned but after that its anybodys game. My opinion. Peace and good luck rook.
Yeah, in his one real test it sounds to me (from the RBR scoring and qualitative descriptions of a lot of posters I respect) that he fought on pretty much even terms with a Charles Martin who only really put up a fight in the second half. That doesn't to me sound like the savior of the HW division, or somebody that is ready for a Samoa Joe.
Parker isn't top 4 no way Jose. You should watch Kownacki-Martin very enjoyable. Watched twice. After watching Whyte -Parker Im convinced Adam can defeat Parker and Whyte. But Not Deontay, Ortiz, Fury or Joshua. How will Parker stop a 260 pounder throwing 70 punches at him??? I dont see it.
