I wouldn't call this a stay busy fight. He barely beat Martin, Washington isn't that good but neither is Martin. I expect Kownacki to win but if he shows up again around 260lbs then this could be a close fight. Whyte would KO him, Kownacki is far too easy to hit. Kownacki isn't on Whyte's level. Ruiz is a more competitive fight. Potentially entertaining fight as neither likes to take a step back. Think Ruiz has better hands and combo's but he's in such poor shape he makes Kownacki look ripped lol. Kownacki probably out works him to win a decision.
A step backwards for Kownacki. Ortiz vs Kauffman, Joyce vs Hanks, Breazeale vs Negron, Ruiz vs Rossy, and now Kownacki vs Washington. This is why the US heavyweights (+Joyce) dont get nice things.
Can't think of a worse style for Washington, he needs to get Kownacki out of there in three or he's gonna blow up and get a massive beat down.
Kownacki only has problems vs. big punching guys and Washington isn't. I think Kownacki will grind him down and take him out late.
Another great fringe contender vs fringe contender fight. I'm a bit higher on Washington than others, but I agree Kownacki is a bad style choice for him. In any event, really glad that the division is seeing so many fights like this nowadays, just a few years ago there were only half this many competitive fights
Washington for me is a paint by numbers HW. He can repeat all the moves he has been taught and beat a certain level, but I feel that Kownacki takes him out his rhythm with his raw aggression & the power difference is key. I dont think that Washington has the power to capitalise on the early openings and I think that Kownacki either gets the late TKO or a UD in this one.
Kownacki to get him out of there inside 5 by walking him down and Washington doesn't have the power to keep Kownacki off him. Could be interesting if it goes past 5 as both have poor stamina.
Should be a good fight , don't see Kownacki doing better then Miller , Washington is around Martin level with less power. Kownacki UD just based on how fights are going recently out of the top 10 ? is this on T.V/ stream ?
I'm usually all for these HW contender fights but neither of these guys interest me. Kownacki is massively overrated on this forum and Washington isn't that good. I'm going with a Washington UD though.
It'll be a good fight. Washington is big and he is also a decent boxer. He'll come in the ring in good condtion and his size and strength make him a challenge. Kownacki is a well schooled fighter who is in better condition than he looks. Beating Martin is impressive. Martin is a 6-5, 245 pound southpaw with a good amateur background. If Martin had come along in an earlier era he wouldn't be able to get fights because he is a southpaw and because of his size. Beating Martin is much more impressive than beating many of the fighters of the past who are held in high esteem today. Kownacki should win this, but Washington is no push over.
