how do you think this young scottish boxer will get on against matthew marsh? he has never been past 6 rounds and doesn't seem to punch that hard!! but at 5' 11'' is tall for the weight and if he could use this properly could he manage to outpoint marsh?
I've only seen this lad once and it was a highlight reel KO on the undercard to Murray (I think). Absolute peach of a punch and one of the best KO's I've seen live. Cant judge him off the back of that one performance and I've not seen any of his other fights though, so no prediction from me. I like Marsh as well, always in good fights. So hopefully this one is a war.
yeah that's the only fight I've seen that was a ***** of a KO. the video can be found on his Bebo page.
I've seen him fight quite a few times. The boy has excellent ability and could easily be a British champion this time next year. I dunno if he's being trained by Paul Weir now or what since he left Nelson's, apparently. I doubt he'll get Marsh out of there early and not going past 6 has to be a concern imo. But he's good to watch. Good jab, good balance, good body shots.
i cant see hughes beating marsh, if marsh's cuts would have held up there is a very good chance he would be a britishg champion with a win over jason booth on his record, see this fight being very similar to the simpson smith fight with the more experienced battle hardened fighter edging a descision
did he not ply his amatuer trade with newarthill boxing club and when his dad realised his potential made him come back to his own club?
I saw him delivering a KO to Dai Davies. Despite Davies' record, he's actually quite a competent boxer and I saw him hand out a 10 round boxing lesson to Rob Turley in his previous fight. He's not as poor as his record suggests, so that was quite a good result for Hughes.
