Sounds promising. Will it have electricity though? Maybe just day training sessions at first, then build up from there. The UN is providing a development package for Detroit which will be delivered by 2026 and should help it get back on its feet after the economical framework collapsed when the mom & pop shops left due to a failure to integrate them into the broader Detroit culture. Some grants could probably be applied for to help with reconstruction and investment. Community leadership will also be essential. Hopefully Tyson Fury and Andy Lee, proponents of the Kronk system and underprivileged, will move to Detroit to support the new developments and become such community leaders.

Whats the amateur system there like right now? Because I am pretty certain that you would have to fix the amateur scene beforehand.
    Best of luck to them.

What kind of messed up world are we in where a city in the US needs UN funding to build itself back up economically? Somewhere in the Sudan? Sure.

BTW, I don't think Tyson Fury can even enter the US due to some alleged association with a crime boss? Stupid **** really. Exactly what are they worried about Fury doing? Drinking all the beer in our bars?

Bakole now banned from the US too -- full travel ban on Congo citizens.

This ****'s dumb. The checklist should be this: not a terrorist? not going to illegally immigrate here? ok then, welcome, enjoy your stay.

I think the idea is to mitigate instances where criminals use their associates to partake in actions that benefit the criminals. For example: in theory Fury could meet up with someone in the U.S. on behalf of the crime organization to build some sort of a relationship.
It seems silly, but it´s the right thing to do.

Bakole is technically banned, yes. But he is based out of the U.K., and has been since 2016. If Bakole ever wanted to fight in the U.S. again, I think his visa would likely be approved, given his track record and athletic accomplishments.

One reason why several countries are being blocked is because people from there too often overstay their visas. It´s silly to allow people from all corners to travel freely.
Several EU countries today have a travel ban on Russias because of the Ukraine conflict.

No -- all travel is banned for Congo citizens. Bakole would not be granted a visa because he's a Congo citizen. I didn't see any exceptions listed. Yeah, doesn't really matter for him, big HW fights are in the UK or Saudi these days anyway, but still.

As to overstaying visas, that can be handled without banning everyone from the entire country no? Tighten up the requirements of demonstrating that they'll return.

I don´t believe thats the case. My understanding is that they have put restrictions on certain visas. Athletes are allowed to apply for a visa.

Yea, sure. But it´s just one of the reasons. What has also been cited is inadequate identity verification, terrorism risks, public safety concerns(crime). It´s a rather nuanced issue.
