Krzysztof Glowacki vs. Thierry Karl, 12 rounds @ cruiserweight

 

Anthems.

 

Round 1

Glowacki is jabbing at the belly and face of Karl from outside. Karl stands up tall, jabbing down with his left into Glowacki's right glove. 1-2 by Glowacki on the bared midriff. Jabs and rights dropped in by Karl, scraping Glowacki's sides. Glowacki is rowing his jab out into Karl's, and planting the left cross on the belt line. Wild left hook by Karl, chasing Glowacki outside. Glowacki lands a right hook threading his upper body in between Karl's loose 1-2. STIFF right up-jab by Glowacki from a crouch, backing Karl up.

Round 2

Glowacki is diving in with the 1-2 on the body and pulling out low. Karl reaches down for him with hooks and they clash heads. Karl is cut. The referee announces it was from an accidental butt. Time in. Glowacki is ducking and weaving in throwing 1-2-3 combos at the body, staying beneath Karl's left jab. Karl is raising and lowering his guard, his thumbs catching at his cut and opening it up more. Glowacki SLAMS him a left hand lead and knocks him into the ropes. Karl is again caught with a big left and lays over the top rope a moment while flurrying back before straightening out. Glowacki ducks a right hand and hit the body. 1-2 by Karl, ducked and countered with a left uppercut on the gut. Glowacki throws a tomahawk southpaw jab out to smack down Karl's feinting left glove. Another big left by Glowacki.

Okay, after those six minutes I see no excuse for Glowacki not getting rid of him soon.

 

Round 3

Glowacki is pressing Karl onto the ropes with body combos, submerging below the left jab and carving with his right. PAIR OF STRAIGHTS BY KARL! Glowacki is stunned onto his heels, head snapping back. Glowacki resumes the offensive and puts Karl on the opposite set of ropes, staying low and jabbing up at him, blocking Karl's 1-2s and long overhands. Big lefts on the body by Glowacki.

Round 4

Low blow by Glowacki. Karl takes a while. Time in. Glowacki is firing hard lefts on the body. Karl gripes that one is low but the ref ignores him. Looping left on the chin by Glowacki. Karl is backing up, a bit unsteady. Jabs and rights by Karl, missing over Glowacki's head. High guard by Glowacki, leaning over to his left. 1-2 by Glowacki, knocking Karl off balance with the left cross. Glowacki is hopping in place, then bending over to his left when he sees Karl twitching about to jab. 1-2 by Glowacki. Karl has blood in his eyes. Glowacki picks off a few light Karl left jabs and watches him.

Round 5

Glowacki is cracking Karl with big left hands up top while leaned over. Glowacki is doubling his jab on the body and lands a big left. Karl is knocked back into the ropes and lands in a kneeling position, immediately given a count. He beats it. Glowacki is on top of him, throwing hard lefts to chop him down and then hooking the body as Karl lays on the ropes. Karl is on his knees again. Up. Glowacki is stalking with over a minute left. Right jab on the body. Left uppercut. Karl ties up. Glowacki is poking his right jab out, measuring, then knocking Karl's left arm aside. Karl is hit with a left uppercut on the crotch and given some recovery time. Action resumed. Glowacki ducks in under a Karl 1-2, waving his right jab out. Glowacki swats at the Karl left jab with his right. BIG explosive combo by Glowacki, nailing Karl with an overhand left and knocking him down on all fours. Counted out.

Test passed. B+. :good

Glowacki did get buzzed in the 3rd, albeit briefly - and Karl is a blown-up middleweight (although he is a couple of inches taller than Glowacki, and in shape, and obviously has a bit of sneaky wiry pop)

His face is also surprisingly marked up.

...and, he probably could have taken Karl out sooner if he were a bit neater in his work and more dedicated to it...perhaps avoiding the lumps he took in return.

Still, he took his man out, in authoritative fashion, and never lost a round.

 

Props to Karl btw, for rising to fight. He very nearly escaped the round, and for a moment I did think he'd get up from the last knockdown to be saved by the bell to make it 10-6. Glowacki was sure to put enough stank (if not finesse) on his finishing left to discourage any more bravery, however.
