Palacios was on the ropes, then Wlodarczyk steps back. We were like... wtf ? Why doesn't he follow the punch ? Better movement, better footwork, more thrown punches, not all of landed, but it's much more in comparison to Diablo. Waiting for the stats.

Gonna sleep, disappointed man cheers you all.

He's definitely got the goods. Skilled guy, but a bit of a "Dirrell", nahmsayin?

I think he'd lose to a lot of Cruiserweights, tbh...

Cunningham, Lebedev, my boy Hernandez & your boy Jones are all too much for him...maybe even next-tier guys like Ross, Green, Afolabi & Arslan.

He does have a perfect style to outbox Huck, though (or lose a very controversial road decision, like this one today or Lebedev-Huck). That is his next best option for a title, since Wlodarczyk would be unwise to even think about giving him a rematch.

Well if you think he has the style to beat Huck then I would think he could be Lebeduv too. Never very impressed by him and seems like he could be esily outboxed by a good boxer just gotta avoid the KO shot. And Arslan's career I think is pretty much over.

We'll just wait and see what he really has maybe he was just nervous with the huge step up in class and fighting with a very hostile crowd and it got to him because when I seen him a few years ago against Azille he looked like a solid boxer/puncher. Not really a big mover like Dirrel.

Cant wait to see the fight on youtube.

And the only ones beating my boys Cunningham or Jones are each other I dont see a cruiserweight out there that could beat them. And your boy Hernandez I'm not sold on yet. The Braithwaite fight is still on my mind.

You're sadly mistaking. Lebedev is undefeated, in my eyes. He has never been "outboxed".

I think of Lebedev as a puncher with pretty good boxing skills; and Huck as just a brawler. :conf

As for Arslan, he had a comeback bout last night. The opponent wasn't any great shakes at all...but Arslan showed he's still got it after shaking off some rust in the first round. Reflexes, solid power, accuracy - all there. He could still make a wave or two.

There's a description of it in here:

You could be right about Palacios just being intimidated by the moment/the turf/the opponent. He wasn't punching for power at all.

I had some weird cold sweats starting around R6 up until the decision... I just could NOT believe Wlod's inactivity considering Palacios wasn't busy enough for a contender fighting a champ in their backyard. At times I was literally mumbling 'what....... the......... ****........' thinking he was not gonna make it out of the arena alive, his own fans were gonna slit his throat or something. Terribly disappointing. All of my vCash was riding on his ass, and even though it's just ****in vCash I had a reason to be upset. When the robbery decision was announced I -finally- exhaled and went out for a smoke. I should be left with 0 vCash right now and bad karma could make it so that Calderon will look like Purnell tonight and win it, as I yet again went all in (on Segura).

I had it 8 rounds to 4 (had a case for 9-3), Palacios BTW.

Can anyone translate Wlod's speech at the end of the fight when he addressed the crowd?

He, himself knew it had been a terrible fight. Just by the look on his face when the 3rd scorecard was announced.

**** like that is discrediting boxing soooooo much..!!

Never said he has I just think he has the style to be outboxed. The best "boxer" he's fought was Alexeev.......

I'd like to get one as well.

The only other time I've ever seen a beaten-looking hometown fighter request the mic to address the crowd before a decision was read aloud is in some Japanese MMA matches...usually the retirement matches of legends, where they get beat up...and then make tearful goodbyes and thank the fans...

I think you might underrate his technical skills a bit, although it's true that he's never faced a real slickster.

    Nice attempt at spinning things.

Adamek beat Cunningham in Cunningham's own turf. At the time he was not used to fighting in NJ, in fact that was the very first time Adamek ever fought in Jersey. It was after the Cunningham victory that it became his base in the US of A. :good

It was pretty pathetic. He said that he loves his fans and they should support him. And he said that he didnt take any risk in that fight, because Palacios as the challenger should do it. And it was his (Diablo) tactic to box safely.

Tbh the fight was even worse to watch than Valuev-Haye.

That's outrageous. :verysad So he compounded his terrible performance by sucking up and trying to pass blame onto Palacios?

He really just kicked a lot of dirt into his fans' eyes yesterday, didn't he?

Wlodarczyk's trainer between rounds: "throw punches, give the chance (reason) to judges..."

So I haven't followed Wlod's career, but he seems to be associated with more than 1 disputed decisions in Poland.

Wlod/Cunningham I was considered a robbery. I understand Wlod/Robinson was also very close...was that a robbery also? What other disputed defenses has Wlod been involved in?
