Mammadov is pressing in and throwing uppercuts to sweep Knyazev's arms to either side - allowing him to score with an overhand deftly wound up and past Knyazev's akimbo limbs using the uppercuts' momentum to boomerang in. Knyazev is popping the jab and backing away under fire.

Round 4

Knyazev has tried switching to southpaw to rest his left, tripling jabs. Mammadov is walking through his right jab and looking to clobber down with the overhand right. They lean together and Mammnadov gets in a series of alternating uppercuts while Knyazev unsuccessfully bars entry to his face by squeezing his fists together - only to have Mammadov's knock them loose. Pause to replace someone's gum shield. Knyazev is flurrying intently and putting Mammadov on the ropes for the finale half minute. He doesn't quite steal it back.

Round 5

Knyazev is reaching across with left hooks slapping into Mammadov's trunk seam. BIG combination by Knyazev, hooking into either side of Mammadov's head as he leans forward and fails to get his gloves around to defend, instead keeping them uselessly pinned in front of his nose.

He spent lots of energy hitting Mammadov in the 5th - more than he probably meant to. He seems the sort who is very relaxed and conservative probably in the hopes of never having to expose his glass stamina. :think

 

Round 6

Knyazev is thumping the body with long underhanded spears and jabbing up top. Mammadov catches him coming forward with the overhand right but is ceding turf and missing loads of uppercut combos as he plods in reverse, clumsily misplacing a heel at times. Much smoother footwork and more relaxed offense by Knyazev, maintaining ring generalship but still imperfect defensively.

Round 7

Knyazev is flurrying and moving. Mammadov waits, curled up in hedgehog formation, stepping forward and launching the overhand right upon entering range. Knyazev is circling away, popping the southpaw jab and cutting across the hairline of Mammadov with the wide slapping left. Not much clean from either, outside a nice sequence of uppercuts at short range by Knyazev, tapping rhythmically on the bottom of Mammadov's chin, and some meaty left hooks on the right hip of Mammadov.

Round 8

Knyazev is going to work, flurrying on Mammadov from long range with mostly straights on the grill and some butterfly net hooks downstairs. Mammadov lumbers directly into a straight right and down he goes. Mammadov looks slightly alarmed, but more fatigued than genuinely hurt. Mammadov is slow rising. Knyazev continues to unload combinations on him, boldly standing in front of him. Mammadov doesn't have the gas to fight back, just shelling up and leaning in.

Round 9

Knyazev bombards Mammadov with a very long, forceful shoeshine on the button. Mammadov is driven into a corner and then onto his knees. Again he seems reluctant to get back on the horse, but does. Mammadov would prefer a nap. Knyazev looks eager to oblige him, throwing with maximum power but unable to get rid of him. Mammadov appears to have been playing a degree of possum, as he begins to let his own hands go the moment Knyazev slows his output. Yeah, Knyazev is dangerously arm-weary now and exhaling heavily through his mouth. Mammadov wings overhands at him but can't land very cleanly.
