Knyazev is whipping in right hands, "breaking ball" style to circumvent the peekaboo stance of Mammadov. Knyazev is patty-caking the backs of Mammadov's gloves with his jab and straight right and then creeping around them for a scoring blow on Mammadov's cheek with the hook and looped right. Mammadov keeps biding his time, letting Knyazev work until he needs a break, and then striking in measured bursts with uppercuts leaning in and chopping overhands that can't miss as Knyazev backs straight up and presents an easily available target bowing forward with his face tiled upward. Knyazev pushes Mammadov onto the ropes and shoeshines on him as Mammadov sags back and covers up.

Round 11

Knyazev is spamming the 1-2 and Mammadov is doing a decent job of keeping it out, using the fattest part of his padding, around the logo, to catch most of what Knyazev tosses at him. Mammadov times a PERFECT right uppercut and snaps Knyazev's head back with startling elasticity, setting his girlish hair on end. Mammdov lunges at Knyazev as he rests his back on the ropes for a breather, and clips him with the right hand. Knyazev spins out to center ring and flurries to stave Mammadov off. Mammadov is circling in close, defending well, picking off Knyazev's now wild left & right jabs as he switches between stances from step to step, and putting the pressure on.

Round 12

Knyazev is heaving, throwing jabs and short right hands as he steps forward before sucking wind and stumbling a bit. Mammadov circles, pot shots with slightly pulled power punches, and uses his forearms defensively like windshield wipers. Knyazev eats some overhands but keeps pressing despite how exhausted he clearly is. In the last ten seconds Knyazev puts Mammadov in a corner and shoeshines nonstop until the bell as Mammadov blocks.

10-9 Knyazev but close despite the last impression left by Knyazev.

117-109 Knyazev

 

Mammadov valiantly rallied in the championship frames but no way does he deserve the decision he is about to be gifted. :!:
