I agree. The majority of people who oppose/opposed the KSI vs Logan Paul fight are and were extremely bitter/stubborn people clinging to the ''good old days'' of boxing. This fight has revived and breathed life into boxing as a whole.

It was definitely a fight that had me anxious and excited. But as far as fight of the year. It was one dude swinging for the fences and barely connecting, and the other dude scared to death to throw, and probably threw 5 non jabs at most for the first 3 rounds lol. But I enjoyed it, not even going to lie.

Trolling...? These two athletes were in the prime and physical pomp of their careers, while both men were very unskilled and poor technically they served up a cracker of a fight.

This fight was very appealing to the masses and both fighters in this fight heavily promoted boxing and it's ideals to the before mentioned masses, let's also not forget the long term benefits of this contest including attracting new fans to the sport of boxing, putting the spotlight on talented boxers on the under-card and gaining and appealing heavily to a newer market.

I don't mind this sort of thing happening VERY occasionally (like once a year) as a fun addition to a card, as you say it can generate new fans. I enjoyed it as a bit of fun and it was an entertaining scrap, but I'd be pretty p1ssed if they started infiltrating lots of professional events. If it is to become a more regular thing, these fights need to be put on separate "celebrity" cards so people can decide whether to pay for the whole event or not.

Agreed. It's main purpose (and only purpose) is to generate hype, but putting real world quality professional boxers on the undercard just makes boxing seem like a big fat joke.

What kind of world do we live in where Haney and BJS are fighting on the undercard (In 2 separate world title fights) of a circus fight.

There were real profesional boxing champions who were marginalized and placed on the back burner in favor of part time youtube boxers.

How entertaining it was is subjective, but to say this was great for boxing is an insult to those champions and real life long career boxers who where put on the side.

So how you can say it was great for boxing when real boxers are being marginalized is beyond me.

How was any of this an insult to boxing champions? If Billy Joe Saunders felt insulted at being on the under-card of two YouTubers, I don't think he would of taken the fight would he? Is Eddie Hearn a slave master to Billy Joe?

Of course not, if Billy Joe Suanders felt he was being ''marginalized'' and put on the side surely he would of declined this fight, taken another fight or asked to go on another card? I'm sure Eddie Hearn and DAZN could of find replacement fighters if these world champions were truly unhappy at being on the under-card of two novices.

@Serge Get your posts on the subject from the round by round and repost them here.:deal:

    My thoughts.

It was an entertaining debacle, I have nothing against matches like this happening, just not an actual boxing cards. If DAZN wants to put together an entire card of YouTubers fighting each other, so be it. I'd probably watch it too. Just don't give these ass clowns the honor of competing alongside and stealing the thunder of top notch pros.

It's disrespectful to these fighters because it sends the message that they are mere side shows, a joke and not really worth watching that they are nothing more than support acts to a bunch of youtubers who are there to help make them relevant.

It's upside down and you can't see where the problem is.

I don't know how Saunders felt, I doubt he cares so long as he gets his pay since that is the type of character he is.

But professional boxing and the fighters as a whole, looking it from the big picture took a nose dive

It wasn't great, it was a bloody embarassment

Yes fighters like Billy Ray saunders will take their money however they can get it, and will say the right thing to ensure they keep getting paid, but deep inside, they must be embarassed to be on the lower part of the card to two rank amateurs

Can you imagine Wimbledon allowing something like this ?

Can you imagine two guys with a large social media following being allowed to run in the 100m at the olympics if they can only run it in 12 seconds ?

Poor Michael Buffer, who has seen it all, must be thinking, from epic mega matches involving Tyson, Holyfield, De la hoya, mayweather to this

    But he still gets paid

Explain how these type of events ''marginalize normal boxing", surely these type of events and the hype/attraction that they create, create a massive platform for up and coming fighters?

I imagine the average up and coming boxer or prospect starting out would love to fight on this type of card, as these type of fights generate massive views and can boost their popularity incredibly.
