I'd say if you can understand some of boxing's fundamental you're already past the "regular Joe" level. There's a huge difference between someone who can punch from his feet to his head, in opposition to his arms only. Combine that with some basic angle & distance management, a sense of timing and some elusiveness...yeah I think that combination would beat most "regular Joe"s pretty easily. Unless your regular Joe is some mountain of a man who has a natural killer instinct, an iron jaw and innate wrestling skills with the proper explosiveness to take it to the ground quickly.

edit : and obviously they do not correspond to the criteria that we have for what we consider a true "pro" boxer, to me they are amateurs who get in the "professional" zone due to their promotional leverage. This is what show-business is, and in the domain of sport show-business requires 2 things : promotion and sport. You can get to the top of the pinnacle with 1 of those 2 things.

 

Professional fighter is anyone who gets paid to fight. As far as this weekend's fight I have never heard of either of these two guys, but one of them looks like the Colorado movie shooter and i hope he gets KOd

Don't have anything against the fight taking place, just have absolutely no interest in watching an exhibition fight that is most likely to be scripted.
