Ok. I dont think Haney is automatically going to get 1 million followers on instagram after the fight. However, this fight only gives boxing more relevance especially considering how UFC seemed to capture the youth audience. It lets boxing become part of youth popular culture, when previously its considered archaic and a boring clinch hug fest. The fact KSI and Logan chose boxing just goes to show you that when two people want to settle things man to man physically, it makes more sense for them to throw hands instead of learning new unnecssary 'UFC' techniques like doing armbars and judo throws. Honestly, even Hollywood incorporates stuff like armbars in fight scenes due to UFC and it always look ridiculous.

It's not just about religion for people. Some are principled enough about the integrity of their approach to their lives and their art to reject watering it down for dollars. Some are passionate enough about their art and identity to remain committed to genres/niches that are unavoidably fringe, fully accepting there won't ever be big money in it. Maybe their dreams of wealth are placed on other endeavours. There are loads of examples. It can be a tough act for some to keep up in the face of a suit waving prospects of big time cash in their face. And I can't blame those who ultimately "sell out" because money's an aspect of survival. Especially for these rap dudes coming from nothing. Principles aren't always pragmatic solutions.

The whole idea of selling out is likely going to mean little to people who enjoy a diverse range of content from the most fringe to the most mainstream. Comparing Bowie's experimental stuff to his disco/pop stuff, to me, both are great. As long as it's done well, all's good. There's a time and place for it. If the new stuff is trash I won't frame it as '**** these sell outs', but more generally like 'it's ****' and move on with my life. Opportunity missed. Ppl who complain about sell outs and posers are often narrow minded and elitist.

great post. boxing and kickboxing are simple in that way. put the dukes up, maybe throw some occasional kicks in, those are the obvious methods of attack in a fight. it could be argued it's relatively one dimensional, but it's easily the most primal of martial arts. that's what makes it the obvious, captivating choice. no point having two dudes settle a beef humping each other in tight undies when they can bash each others faces in.

It's huge for boxing in the sense that it's a new way of selling views and maybe attracting a new base. I really can't see why people are so bothered by it. DAZN are making money in ways that are way better for the real fans. Having one of these celeb fights every once in a while beats having to pay $80-100 for a single event not even knowing if the main event will be worth the price. And you don't have to watch it.

Whether you like it or not, this is the biggest boxing event of the year. And not even a murmur on this site's front page.

    Tsk Tsk.

I personally think it is an embarrassment that ACTUAL talented fighters are the undercard for this joke.

One of these two idiots did an interview on DAZN and showed zero class dropping F-bombs during the interview every few seconds.

Boxing is bottom of the barrel if it needs these clowns.

Haney and BJS are world class talents

These two guys ... LMFAO would get smoked by any fighter on the card.

The actual talented fighters are getting paid more bc of the main event, you do realize that the undercard guys don't need to be on it ,they are getting carried by the main event and are happy about it .

I get it, buts personally I think its garbage and I hope to never hear from these two "vloggers" again.

The black guys interview on the Canelo card was "uggh" annoying to say the least.

You aren't beating up any of your sparring partners man, stop.

So? Who cares if they have 20 million hangers on, Bottom line is they are doing it for publicity and there are guys down my gym who could beat them both on the same night who have 0 followers.
