Just wait until one of the boxing organizations presents a special belt for that fight.

In general, that fight happening as a main event, is sad for boxing.

Provide your evidence that the first one didnt bring new fans to the sport.

I know of a few people personally who are now into boxing thanks to the first fight, just for reference.

NFL is an org(like many others). football(american) is the sport...everyone can play it, anyone can play it on TV..
    MLB / baseball the same
    NBA / bascketball the same
the same f... thing with boxing and orgs....

as long as no real boxing ORG sanctions this event it shouldnt bother anyone... heck, lots of positives with it.

I don't care about it, but boxing needs new blood and perhaps these types of events will raise the sport's profile. Better this than an old, shot fighter getting fed to a prospect.

    I hope it does well.

They are fighting on Dazn which is a streaming service that doesn’t do PPV’s. Dazn want to bring in more subscribers and the popularity of the YouTubers could help with that.

Sure, anyone can play football or basketball on a curb corner, but this is far from that. This is a major promoter in the sport broadcasting two total novices as the main event on a card that could feature a major contender put on a pay to view service. And yes, DAZN is still a pay to view platform, requiring a subscription to view bouts. This goes way beyond a backyard show. This is the equivalent of the NFL hiring a bunch of YouTube jerks to play a game during the season, it's not like they're going to win the Super Bowl but either way it makes the league look bad. The very idea of sport is that it's competitive, it doesn't matter how much you have in the bank or how famous you are, your rewarded for winning and working hard. The idea that two bloggers can be the main event of a fight broadcast on a major boxing network flies in the face of that. It compromises the integrity of our great sport. It's saying "hey, we don't give a crap about how good you are, you can buy your way to a high level in our sport".

No I don't think they will bro. When all these YouTube video game streaming geeks are watching the PPV undercard and see Saunders put on a boxing master class of jab, jab, slip, slip, move and repeat for half-an-hour they will be bored stiff. They will be so bored that they will go back to playing Fortnite and watching online streaming while they wait for the "main event". Trust me, this won't get these geeks into boxing. It will only get them more invested into YouTube beef and drama.

the fact that numbers are pretty much the same as before it. these are young teenagers who are just fans of youtubers. Plus the fact this is on DAN and not youtube, not the most accessible

Hey man leave Holyfield/Tank PPV alone. Anyone fortunate enough to see that got to watch a sweet saxophone player entertain between the fights! And got to see Julius Long fight IIRC. Yeah, so what, maybe I ordered it.

I'd rather circus freak shows be on PPV if it means not wrecking the budget. Then I don't have to watch. However, aside from what PBC on Fox or a free stream or whatever, every fight is PPV. You are paying for DAZN, ESPN+, Showtime, etc. Usually, there is a demand for it thus why it is happening.

You guys against it are total fools who act like pro boxers fight and promoters put forth all the hours as volunteer work. It's a job. Money to be made is money to be made.

It is not volunteer work for fighters or promoters. Don't be silly.

Boxing is already more of a show business than a proper sport, so this is normal

I fail to see the problem. Anyone can hold a boxing event with enough money. The YouTubers are the main attraction so they are the main event. The other guys benefit from the attention.

The first fight didn't even look like a circus act. Obviously they are low skilled but it was a proper fight and they went at it.

    I don’t see a big problem here.

I do see your point of giving them a pro status this early but then again what are the requirements for a man to turn a pro boxer?

Also, one can simply choose not to watch this fight if not interested.
