Pulev is a strong heavyweight from Bulgaria, 6'4 240lbs. Although he's not a huge hitter, he does seem to have respectable power. What stands out most to me are his technical abilities, his skill level. He reminds me a bit of Andrew Golota, minus the fact that he was a total complete ****ing head case.

He's only had 4 pro fights though, so i wonder if Matt Skelton in his 5th bout is too soon. Although Skelton can be a spoiler (the Chagaev fight:dead), i'm really looking forward to this one. I don't see Pulev beating either Klitschko in their current form, but he could be a formidable opponent in a year or two.

    What happened to Platov?

Pulev looks a lot like Chagaev.

YEa tough test, think its more dependant on how Skelton turns up. Hes been there before and done it, even world title fight believe it or not and its comin to end of his career now.

Just whether hel b there for the payday or stil trying to be a genuine contender.

He also has a long amateur background. Wilder barely fought amateur for a year before going pro. Managed to medal in the Olympics on pure talent, but he has no idea how to box, and he needs to put a lot of meat on his frame before he can compete with decent heavyweights.

Anyway, they've matched Pulev extremely tough so far. He also beat Gbenga Olukun (who beat Lamon Brewster) and Zack Page (who took away Kasim Howard's 0, and who since upset a big 17-0 German prospect). He doesn't have much to learn though. He turned pro late and he's fully developed. He just needs to get acclimated to fighting longer fights and to smoothe out some rough edges.

Never seen this geezer but would say its a safe bet Skeltons gonna beat him. But then again if its in Germany skelton would have to knock him out to win on points.

Love the fact this prospect is begin toughly matched tho. Just like the good old days. Hes record will be genuine and talent proven. Good luck to him.

Kubrat is a very good boxer and european amateur champion from my country and living in my home town. His problem has always been the lack of good sparing partners in Sofia. The other problem is that he is going out with a Bulgarian pop singer and spending a lot of time with her in the clubs :). I'm not sure he is 100 percent dedicated to the sport now. From a sport point of view he has very fast hands but is not a very good inside fighter.

They "couldn't reach him". Probably just pulled out of the fight.
