Kubrat Pulev announced his second match after the return. Anybody know anything about his opponent? After this one i guess it is time to step vs higher level opposition.
In 2011 Moe Harris was considered as the best 24-14-2-guy in the world. By beating Nagy Aquilera (who was in the IBF rankings after his victory against Maskaev), Harris entered the IBF Top15 with the USBA-belt. Thompson und Harris fought an #2-IBF-Eliminator, which Thompson won. Thompson then was Klitschkos mandatory challenger, after #1 Povetkin refused to fight Klitschkos that time. Harris is best known for winning the Thunderbox Tournament (whre he beat Tony Thompson) and his upset victory against Sergey Lyakhovych. Other noteable victorys include Jeremy Williams and Derrick Rossy.
Pulev, needed to get rid of his trainers and management. But he didn't. He should have gotten a top flight trainer and considered moving for short time to the US. Pulev, is strong but a big/slow lummox. I think he's damaged goods, and is gun shy. I understand the love for his country. But he isn't going anywhere, or winning any titles being based in Bulgaria and training occassionally in Germany. Pulev is hard headed. Meaning, he doesn't want to listen. Meaning, he isn't going anywhere.
These fighters build up these mediocre fighting records then get highly ranked to earn a chance to fight Klitschko and lose badly. Yet they never seem to fight their fellow contenders. Why can't we see Bryant Jennings, Puvev, Povekin, Fury, Haye, Ustinov, Wilder, Ortiz, and Glazkov all fight each other than challenge for a title?
I know, but for all these guys that get to face Klitschko they all underwelm massivly and it really shouldn't surprise anyone seeing how awful their records really are.
To be fair Takam and Ustinov are willing and open to any fight. Actually seems like both of them can't find an opponent they should fight each other.
